Praying, not Reading

We Filipinos are not, by any standard, a nation of readers. We are, in fact, a nation of prayers. For my part, as a high school expelled student, I pride myself not only as one who is an avid reader, but also a book and letter writer. Poch suzara

What faith is to mental paralysis, reason is to critical analysis. Meanwhile, theology is not what we know about the supernatural, but what we do not know about the natural. Indeed, theology is not about what is everywhere down here, but what is nowhere out there. Poch Suzara

No Beginning, No End

I am told that God has no beginning and no end. Well, let's assume for the sake of an argument that God has been existing die for more than 800,000,000,000 (BILLION) YEARS. Now if I live to be 80 YEARS, which is but a split of a millisecond long comparatively, I should be most proud to find out after death that, somehow, I managed to offend God Almighty with my sins while existing on this piece of dust called "earth.". In fact, if and when I meet with God after death, I will ask God if he is a Catholic? If He says yes, then I will tell him to his face, (if he has a face) that he has been and still is a LOUSY GOD to us Filipinos in the Philippines - the only Catholic country in Asia since the 16th century. Imagine God as invisible, a spirit, and moving in mysterious ways. Could there be anything else more imaginably ridiculous? Poch Suzara

Onan's Free Will

In Genesis 38, Onan was struck dead by God when he spilled his seed instead of impregnating his widowed sister-in-law as he had been commanded to do. His offense lay not in committing coitus interruptus, but refusing to do what tradition said he owed to his dead brother's memory. In any case, I ask: how free was Onan's free will as a gift from God? Poch Suzara

The church will never solve social problems such as poverty, squalor. and human misery. In fact, in order to guarantee its continued existence, as the church has been in existence for the past two thousand years, it's main business has always been to exacerbate and to perpetuate social problems. Silly Commandments of God

Fear of punishment in hell or the hope of reward in heaven is a pathetic way of living one's life with self-respect and dignity.. To begin with, the commandments of God have absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with the development of human intelligence or the cultivation of human benevolence - for one another! Indeed, the commandments of God serves not man but only God. Is God really that emotionally twisted in that he needs commandments for lesser and frightened beings to follow? Poch Suzara

Postmodernism is the ancient way of discarding modernism. It is a way of admitting
individually what one cannot accept as human improvements socially. Poch Suzara

A religion that seeks immunity from examination of its values, beliefs, and indeed practices is a religion that is obviously based on holy mendacity, if not sacred hypocrisy. Poch Suzara

Silly Logic

A remedy for a fallacious argument is not the evasion of the issue or dodging of the question, but simply, a more logical argument. Otherwise, why believe in something that no one knows nothing about? Poch Suzara

Death as a Nothing

Death is resting in everlasting peace.There is no more worry, troubles, work, planning, knowledge, wisdom in the world of the dead. Death is the world of nothing; yet, the frightened faithfools fear death as the beginning of something.

For my part, after I am dead, and I find there is life after death, I say NO WAY. I don't want to have to do anything with more prayers, novenas, Black Nazarene, bible studies, Retreats, prayer meetings, confession, mass, communion, indeed, I don't want to have anything to do with a Spanish, or American, or Jewish Savior. Or worst, I do not want to have to do anything with a God or an Allah and or a Yahweh or what-not. Over my dead body. Poch Suzara

How unkind of God to lead people to the edge of a cliff to test their faith in revelation. Isn't God already busy enough leading people not to fall into temptation? What's the purpose then of people's supplication. for divine intervention? Poch Suzara

The Faithfools

Instead of attaching more credibility to the power of a logic, the faithfools would rather submit to the fantastic claims of the Old and the New Testament explaining God's kind of silly magic. Poch Suzara

Divine Booboo

Never mind Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, Noah and the rest of those silly bible characters. If God had only created first the Virgin Mary born without original Sin who gave birth to Jesus as His only begotten Son of God - our world would be a paradise today? In the meantime, I am most proud of God and His Virgin Mary. They practiced family planning and birth control measures. They only had one son, didn't they? Poch Suzara

Jesus was not born a Catholic. Even at the time of his baptism, there was not, as yet established - the Roman Catholic Church. So, as the song goes: what's going on?
