The Universe We Observe

"The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference." . . . God Covers Our Sins

"Whenever we're ready to uncover our sins, God is ready to cover them." Philippine Star, Oct.31, 2014 ... The Economists and the Theologians

"An economist is an expert who will know tomorrow only the things he predicted yesterday didn't happen today." Lawrence J. Peter ...Well, at least the economists never claim that they are inspired by God. . . So how come the theologians of centuries ago always inspired by God knew nothing of the existence of God just exactly like the theologians of this century inspired by the same God also know nothing of the existence of God. . . Life's Purpose

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” -- Ralph Waldo Emerson - - Oh My dear Ralph Waldo Emerson, you are 100 per cent right on target. "Those who put their trust in God will never be disappointed." Philippine Star, Oct. 27, 2014 . . . Wow God! Don't you have better things to do with your existence other just to wait for those who trust you? What if, like me, I have no trust in you in any way whatsoever! What then? Atheistic Growth as a People and Scientific Development as a Nation

“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” Steve Jobs. . . Oh my dear Steve Jobs, in the Philippines, a Filipino crazy enough to think he can change the Philippines is thought to be insane, sick, and insulting, and full of hate - me! . . . Well, I am already 77 years old, a senior citizen, and am ready to go. I only hope that after I am gone, dead, and buried - others will carry on what I can no longer do in trying to reform the Philippines into a more decent country to live in, think for, and work at. . . I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain. . . James A. Baldwin . . . Oh my dear Baldwin, you are right on target. . . for my part, I'd rather endlessly hate the lies and deceptions; hate the illusions and delusions; hate injustices, poverty, and political corruption; not to mention I also love to hate social insanity than be forced to deal with pain once again by being not the master, but the stupid victim of religion as a frightened Catholic that I once was as a boy in school. The Church Should be Under the State

"I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. . . My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death." . . George Carlin. . . For my part, I said it before, I say it again: The church should be under the State and for doing profitable business such as operating schools, colleges, and universities... the Church should be TAXED like any other commercial enterprises should taxed doing business in the Philippines. . . Robert G. Ingersoll on Blasphemy

No man can blaspheme a book. No man can commit blasphemy by telling his honest thought. No man can blaspheme a God, or a Holy Ghost, or a Son of God. The Infinite cannot be blasphemed. What is blasphemy? I will give you a definition; I will give you my thought upon this subject. What is real blasphemy? To live on the unpaid labor of other men — that is blasphemy. To enslave your fellow-man, to put chains upon his body — that is blasphemy. To enslave the minds of men, to put manacles upon the brain, padlocks upon the lips — that is blasphemy. To deny what you believe to be true, to admit to be true what you believe to be a lie — that is blasphemy. To strike the weak and unprotected, in order that you may gain the applause of the ignorant and superstitious mob — that is blasphemy. To persecute the intelligent few, at the command of the ignorant many — that is blasphemy. To forge chains, to build dungeons, for your honest fellow-men — that is blasphemy. To pollute the souls of children with the dogma of eternal pain — that is blasphemy. To violate your conscience — that is blasphemy. The jury that gives an unjust verdict, and the judge who pronounces an unjust sentence, are blasphemers. The man who bows to public opinion against his better judgment and against his honest conviction, is a blasphemer. Why should we fear our fellow-men? Why should not each human being have the right, so far as thought and its expression are concerned, of all the world? What harm can come from an honest interchange of thought? Poch Suzara

Religion is What Makes us Sick as the Sick Children of Asia

Religion is the only institution powerful and demented enough to turn a gruesome image of a man being tortured and murdered into something worthy of praise and worship by millions. . . In the meantime, I say it again: - - - If Jesus was GOD, AGAIN, I invite you all to please READ seriously your bible. For example please read: - - - If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 14:28 Jesus said "My Father (GOD) is greater than I"? - - - If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 20:17 Jesus said I ascend to my God and your God? This tells us that we and Jesus have a common GOD. . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself"? Can't GOD do anything he wills. . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 24:36 Jesus told his followers that no one (including Jesus) knows when the judgment day will come, only GOD knows? . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:32 Jesus told his followers that they have never seen GOD at anytime nor ever heard his voice? . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 19:16 Jesus said "Why call me good, there is none good but One, that is GOD"? . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in Isiah 11:2-3 GOD had put the spirit of fearing GOD in Jesus? . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:30 Jesus told his followers that he can't do a single thing of his own initiative?. . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:36-38 Jesus said that GOD had assigned him (Jesus) work and GOD is a witness on Jesus? . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why did he pray to his GOD in Luke 5:16? . . . If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus fell on his face and prayed to his GOD? . . . If Jesus was God, why would he crucified on the cross cry out loud: "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME?" Matt. 27:46 ... Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

The Philippines as a Failed State

"God's love never fails." Philippine Star, Oct, 23, 2014 . . . In the Philippines, the only Catholic country in Asia since 1521, God's love has failed miserably. . . Failed historically. . . The Philippines is a failed state. . . Why not? Virtually all of our government officials, from the highest to the lowest are not only corrupt, but also, most of them - MAKA-DIOS and MAKA-JESUS! In the meantime, as a failed State, there is neither justice nor truth ongoing in the Philippines. . . Indeed, justice is truth in action. . . In our sick system of education the very first thing that's ignored is the search of justice via the search of the truth; especially as it is man's most noble of professions. The Existence of Germs, Bacteria, and Viruses Not Mentioned in the Bible

How come there is no mention in the holy bible of the existence of germs, viruses, and bacteria as a Revealed Truth? And when God told Noah to save the animals, two of a kind, did Noah know that he was saving such microscopic creatures? . . . Now listen to what science tells us about the world of bacteria, germs, and viruses: - - - If there was no bacteria, humans and plants wouldn't be able to live. . . Bacteria help our bodies develop, and they do a process of nitrogen fixation to help plants give us oxygen. . . Therefore, without bacteria nothing on earth would be able to live. . . . Everyone would die, since we need bacteria inside our body to digest food for us. . . Good bacteria (Normal Flora) breaks down nitrogen and without nitrogen, the plants cannot grow, and without plants, no oxygen. Therefore, no bacteria, no life. . . But we as humans have bacteria on our body. . . Not all bacteria is bad. . . So, if there just wasn't bacteria, then I think it could be bad, because what would happen to the things that need good bacteria to survive? Or even things that need bad bacteria to survive. I don't know if you are familiar with the butterfly effect, but to sum it up quick. . . It means that one small thing can drastically change everything. Bacteria also make vaccines & when something dies, plant or animal, bacteria is what decomposes it. . . When things are rotting, its just bacteria releasing carbon & other important nutrients out of the dead organism and into the air and soil. . . They also decompose compost and sewage which helps create methane. . . If bacteria didn't exist, the waste would just keep accumulating at record speed and interfere with the existence of everything living on earth. . . Plus decomposition returns carbon dioxide into the air which enables plants and the rest of the world to survive. . . This natural recycling process returns minerals to the earth and makes it fit for plants and animals to live. Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

All that is Needed is Repentance

Why should the sinners be afraid to commit sins, and why should the criminals be afraid to commit crimes when, during our school years under a Catholic system education we have been taught to believe there is always available, at any time, from God - the forgiveness of sin and the forgiveness of crimes. All that is needed is repentance. Thus, we are a nation of sinners and criminals; or, more briefly, - we are the SICK CHILDREN OF ASIA. Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

The Game of Ideas

As a little boy at home and in school, I enjoyed playing all kinds of games including making my own toys to play with. After I was expelled out of high school, however, I gradually lost my interest in playing or watching games such as football, basketball, baseball, swimming, golf, tennis, handball, boxing, etc. Except, I must mention, I never lost my interest in playing the drums. Indeed, today as a senior citizen I still enjoy my hobby a Jazz drummer. But then again, all in all, I managed, somehow to develop more and greater interest in playing the game of ideas. It was, in this way, that I got to be more of a reader of great books and a thinker of great ideas than most of my friends, associates, classmates, and relatives - most of them as silly believers, if not frightened followers of this or that worthless, if not thoughtless, - priorities. 33 Million Filipinos Live under Poverty Line

Nearly one third of Filipinos still live below the poverty line. . . I said it before, I say it again: Poverty as a way of daily life historical in the Philippines (the only Catholic country in Asia) is not only due to corruption in the government; but more so due to the sick system of education as provided for by the Catholic church - the owners of more than 1,200 schools, colleges, universities and seminaries operating on tax-free basis in our poor and backward country. . . Indeed, in our sick system of education, millions of us Filipinos are still taught to believe that after death, for as long as fave faith, we shall enjoy eternal happiness, indeed, a better way of life waiting for us in heaven known as the kingdom of God!. . . Luke 14:26 "And everyone that hath left father or mother, brothers or sisters, or wife, or children or lands, for My sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting." Mark 10:29. "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead." Matt. 8:22 "Think not that I have come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Corruption and Jesus within our Sick System of Education

If only our system of education had nothing to do with fiction, corruption, lies, and deceptions. If only our schools, colleges, and universities have only to do with the power of reason, the values of wisdom, and the endless pursuit of the truth and happiness in the here and now. Indeed, if our system of education made sense at all, we Filipinos should be ahead of everyone else in Asia today. Enjoying neither damnation nor salvation; but enjoying only scientific growth and technological development as a nation. Unfortunately, due to our sick system of education, we Filipinos continue to be famous as the "Sick Man of Asia." Instead of integrity and sagacity behind our social and political and economic responsibility - what we have created for ourselves is only a Republic of mediocrity. All for the sake of our faith in divinity as inspired by the teachings of Christianity! Jesus Christ in the holy bible neatly summarized it for all of us Filipinos in this only Catholic country in Asia: "I am the way, the life, and the truth." John 14:6 And to think that this is the same Jesus who clearly stated in the holy bible: "If any man (Filipino) who come to me and hate not his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and yea, his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:26. Thus, in the Philippines, for the love of Jesus up there, we hate each other down here. Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

Crime Wave Increasing in our Sick Society

No doubt, the crime wave is increasing in our sick society. However, it is not only due to the activities of the ordinary criminals, but also due to the activities of the extra-ordinary criminals of the worst kind: our law enforcers with their corrupt lawyers in cahoots together. What is the Bible Worth as a Revealed Truth from God

"Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place." --- (Deuteronomy 12:2-3) "I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own-- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism." --- Albert Einstein In the meantime, after more than 2000 years in the world, and after more than 400 years in the Philippines, how has the bible as the Revealed Truth from God transformed this world and transformed the Philippines into a better place to live in? To begin with: which bible? There are more than 57 versions of the bible sold in bookstores? I said it before, I say it again: throw your bible out the window! Jose Rizal and Jesus Christ

"The youth is the hope of our future." “I would like the Filipinos to be Brilliant, Enlightened, Intelligent, and Progressive.” Jose Rizal ... "If any man come to me and hate not his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and yea, his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." Jesus Christ. . . Poor Jose Rizal; for preaching the exact opposite of what Jesus Christ preached, Jose Rizal was arrested, incarcerated, and publicly executed by the power and authority of the Catholic church during the late 19th century.. And to think that in this already 21st century, we Filipinos in the Philippines are still under the system of Catholic education as the Catholic church is the owner of more than 2,200 schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries operating tax-free in our poor and backward country. In the meantime, no Filipino school teacher, no college professor, no editor, columnist, radio or TV announcer, actor, actress, singer, lawyer, judge, theologian, congressman, senator, governor, mayor, and no Barangay Captain in the past or in the present has ever uttered these words in the Philippines. Only Jose Rizal said it: "I would like the Filipino to be Brilliant, Enlightened, Intelligent, and Progressive." Well, out of the millions upon millions of Filipinos who have already lived and died in the Philippines since Jose Rizal was publicly executed by the followers of Jesus Christ - only one Filipino, Poch Suzara, thus far, has had the guts to utter these words openly in public: "As a Filipino, I have greater love, respect, affection, and admiration for Jose Rizal than I have for Jesus Christ who was not even a Filipino. Jesus was a Jew born in a Jewish land of Jewish parents." And to think further, that Jesus and His apostles never were able to convert his own Jewish People to become Catholics as they are today in this already 21st century still JEWISH! In the meantime, the statue of the greatest Filipino ever, an intellectual giant - Jose Rizal is found only here and only there in this only Catholic country in Asia since the 19th century. The symbol of Jesus crucified on a piece wood, however, is displayed HERE and THERE and EVERYWHERE in our sick and corrupt society. In this already 21st century, we Filipinos are still taught to believe that with faith in Jesus our faith will make us rich and through that faith we shall all be saved and prosperous not, however, in this life; but only later after death in the next life with God in the kingdom of heaven... Today, I again say it to Jose Rizal with my open mind and open heart: Sir, you are the greatest Filipino the Philippines has ever produced. I love you. I respect you. I admire you. I miss you! The Law Hurts, But Lawyers are far more Damaging in the Philippnes

In the Philippines, the law hurts; but the corrupt lawyers are far more damaging. They sell the law to the highest bidders in cahoots with the equally corrupt judges in court. Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

The Greatest of Crimes in Our Poor and Backward Country

MANILA, Philippines — There is now an “epidemic of scandals” in government where it’s officials are stricken with “epidermis of pachyderms” and the Filipino people “have no choice but to keep on fighting,” Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago said on Friday. . . “Those guys are thick-skinned,” Santiago said in a speech before the annual national convention of the Philippine Association of Real Estates Board Inc at the Bellevue Hotel in Muntinlupa, Alabang. . . “It used to be said in ancient Rome that Cesar’s wife must be above suspicion. But today, the criminals in high public office consider themselves to be above suspicion, even when the testimonial and documentary evidence is presented, and they have no defines but to cry that the charge is politically motivated. I have news for them. Anything that happens in politics is politically motivated so it’s no defines at all,” she said. . . The “epidemic of scandals” began with Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. who have been charged and detained in connection with the “pork barrel” scam. . . The epidemic, she said, continued with the airing of documented “dirty-linen” against Vice President Jejomar Binay and his family, who have been accused of amassing unexplained wealth and other irregular activities when he was still the mayor of Makati City.‎ . . “The epidemic continues further with present allegations of proliferate abuses by no less than the person who heads the agency which enjoys monopoly of sanctioned legal force against the civilian population,” Santiago said, without saying who she was referring to. . . “In all of these and probably in the forthcoming cases, the five-centavo lawyers will claim that their clients enjoy the presumption of innocence. I repeat: Ignorance can be cured, but stupid is forever. When I read the asinine remarks of these cheap lawyers, I am fully convinced that they posses unparalleled mediocrity,” she said. . . Santiago said it was “doubly complicate” to fight corruption in the country when the accused pretend to be the champions of honesty and then resort not only to shameless propaganda “but also to all forms of unethical character assassination carried out by expensive and unconscionable media syndicates.”. . . “But the Filipino people have no choice; we have to keep on fighting. We have to remain adamant in the belief that good will triumph over evil, and that good governance will triumph over corruption,” the senator added.. . OH MY DEAR SENATOR MIRIAM DEFENSOR, WE SHOULD CALL THE ATTENTION OF SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, AND UNIVERSITIES ESTABLISHED BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THROUGHOUT OUR COUNTRY. MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF ITS STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO IGNORE THE GREATEST OF CRIMES HAPPENING DAILY IN OUR POOR AND BACKWARD COUNTRY - THE CRIME OF SILENCE. Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

If Christ were here now there is one thing he would not be - a Christian. . . Mark Twain. . . Oh my dear Mark Twain, I would go a step further - if Christ were here in the Philippines, He would not be a catholic. However or whatever the case may be, I have a more profound question to ask: Have any of you ever heard of a poor Catholic Filipino or a poor Christian Filipino who got to be FILTHY RICH for believing that God is BAD? So how come millions of poor Catholics and millions of poor Christians in the Philippines are FILTHY POOR for believing that God is GOOD? Twitter# Facebook# Google#

Jesus clearly stated that people have never seen God, as it says in John 5:37: "And the father himself which Has sent me, has borne witness of me. You have NEITHER HEARD HIS VOICE AT ANY TIME NOR SEEN HIS SHAPE"? This is all fine and dandy. The real question is: how come Jesus and His apostles were able to convert the Filipinos into becoming Christians in general and Catholics in particular, and yet they were never able to convert their own Jewish people to become either Christians or to become Catholics? Even the place of birth of jesus and His apostles was never transformed into a Catholic or a Christian country. It is still today a Jewish State. Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

The Power of Human Stupidity

You cannot antagonize and influence at the same time. --J. S. Knox . . . Oh My dear Knox, in schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries in the Philippines- millions of student are not only antagonized, but threatened to believe and to have faith and to be perpetually influenced by the power and authority and glory of the Catholic church. . . The Sick System of Education in our Country

I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity. . . Dwight D. Eisenhower. . . Oh my dear Eisenhower, for my part, who was once a grade student and a high school student eventually expelled out of De La Salle University, I hated and still do hate the sick system of education. It is perpetually keeping us spiritually sick as a people, politically sick as a nation, and economically sick both as a people and as nation endlessly; especially for the greater glory of Jesus on earth as He is in heaven... And to think that Jesus was a Jew. He never could convert His own Jewish people into becoming Christians; His own place of birth place continues to be not a Christian, but a Jewish State. Woman's VAGINA or her precious MEDULLA OBLONGATA

It is sad to see college-educated men in our sick society believe that LOVE has only more to do with a woman's VAGINA, rather than it should be the precious LOVE for the woman's MEDULLA OBLONGATA... As for me, a high school expelled student and an atheist always in love with books, I have far more LOVE for a woman's MEDULLA OBLONGATA than I care to LOVE the ugliest part of a woman's body - her VAGINA! Oh My Dear Plato

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. Plato. . . Oh my dear Plato,, in the Philippines, due to a sick system of education, not only children in grade school and in high school, but also millions of college-educated men and women are afraid of the light. . . They usually refer to it as having faith in God - the creator of light in this world. . . Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

Thinking as far more precious than Believing

The third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. The second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. The first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking. A. A. Milne

Senator Rene Saguisag, Bill Gates, and the Catholic Bishops

Melinda Gates is a fervent Catholic. She and atheist Bill are worth $76B, the world's richest. I doubt if they have spent a single day insulting us, believers. Instead they work, to help, not degrade, others. Bill says: "It makes sense to believe in God. The moral systems of religion, I think, are superimportant. We've raised our kids in a religious way, they have gone to the Catholic church that Melinda goes to and I participate in." They have donated a lot to charity and credits same to religion and morality. Busy, they have no time to insult believers. I might have been a beneficiary of the Ford Foundation at Harvard, where I had a fine teacher in Lon Fuller, not a Catholic, but a fervent admirer of it. We communicated until he passed away. Bill spent three years at Harvard, I, only one, which may explain why I still scratch for a living, and can afford to give back to Harvard only nominal amounts; Bill has donated humongous sums. Melinda donates to contraceptive programs. Bill, asked on on condoms, begged off from discussing a "sensitive" topic. Wow, a kind compassionate sensitive atheist after our own hearts, caring for how others feel... Senator Rene Saguisag. My Dear Senator Saguisag, What about the filthy-rich Catholic Bishops as among the top investors in the Makati Stock Exchange. What charity have they given to poor in the Philippines getting only poorer, not getting any richer?. . . Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

Is God a Supernatural Jerk

"Peace is more than the absence of conflict; peace is the presence of God. . . Philippine Star, Oct. 1, 2014. . . NO KIDDING? listen to God bragging in the Old holy bible Testament: "I form the light and create darkness: I make peace and create evil: I the Lord do these things." Joy-Filled Living or Sick-filled living in the Philippines

'The bible is not a burden but a guide to joy-filled living." Philippine Star, Oct. 3, 2014... Wow, if only the editors of Philippine Star would seriously read the bible, they will not be guilty of publishing such childish horrors written in the holy bible by inspired authors of God... Consider these words from Jesus, our Savior. It would be a joke to say that such nonsense have filled the lives of millions of Filipinos with joys in life or with the pleasures of religious, social, and political sanity in our country: LET US NOW LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF JESUS, THE SAVIOR OF FILIPINOS, AS WRITTEN IN THE HOLY BIBLE BY THE INSPIRED AUTHORS OF GOD - THE FATHER OF JESUS: Matt. 10:34-35 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword,” “For I am come to set a Man at variance against his father, and daughter against her mother.” Matt. 19:29 “And everyone that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” Mark 10:29-30 “There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s. But he shall receive a hundredfold now in time… with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” Mark 13:12 “Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.” Luke 12:51-53 :Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division. For from henceforth there shall be five to one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father, and the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother…” Luke 14:26 “ If any man come to me and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, and yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:33 “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not that all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 19:27 “But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them for me.” St John 12:25-26 “He that loveth his life shall lose it; he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal; . . . If any man serve me, him will my father honor.” POCH SUZARA Twitter# Facebook# Google#

To the mediocre, mediocrity is a form of happiness... Friedrich Nietzsche... In the Philippines, with millions of college-educated men and women, mediocrity is a form of entertainment on stage, radio, television, and movies;` not to mention mediocre entertainment by the candidates running to be the next president for the happiness of the Republic of the Philippines. . . Freedom and Democracy in our Sick Country

"Democracy and free speech are not facets of one gem; democracy and free speech are eternal enemies." H.L. Mencken. . . Oh My dear Mencken, in the Philippines, democracy and the freedom to enjoy thoughtlessness are the best of friends. The majority of college-educated men and women in our country prefer delusion to truthful realization. Delusion has more to do with blind faith; especially for the sake of our biblical confusion. In the meantime, Filipino Christians love only theocracy. They hate democracy as it means the freedom of thought, of inquiry, and indeed, the freedom to question everything.
