Science as the Surest way to Achieve Health as a People and Wealth as a Nation

It is science alone that can solve the problems of hunger and poverty, of insanitation and illiteracy, of superstition and deadening custom and tradition, of vast resources running to waste, or a rich country inhabited by starving people... Who indeed could afford to ignore science today? At every turn we have to seek its aid... The future belongs to science and those who make friends with science. - Jawaharlal Nehru... If I may add, science is, indeed, in every country, like the Philippines, the surest way to achieve health as a people, and wealth as a nation. It is a national tragedy, that in this already 21st century Philippines, in schools, colleges, and universities, there is more about the teaching of stupid religion; and hardly about teaching of the power of knowledge and wisdom behind the power of science and technology.
