Russell and Dawkins

Bertrand Russell was once accused of being “lecherous, salacious, libidinous, lustful, venerous, erotomaniac, aphrodisiac, atheistic, irreverent, narrow-minded, bigoted, untruthful, and bereft of moral fibre.”

On the contrary, Russell was one of the kindest philosophers who ever lived. In his time in many countries, he intellectually taught millions of people to be courageous with self-respect and to be comfortable with human dignity.

Next to Russell, I have the greatest respect and admiration for the famous atheist-biologist Richard Dawkins. He recently published “The God Delusion” – a best seller in the USA and Britain, it is now also coming out in 30 foreign editions, shooting onto best seller lists in Italy, Germany, Brazil and Spain.

I particularly enjoyed reading Dawkins’ description of God of the Old Testament - “arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction… a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sado-masochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” Poch Suzara

If God is Dead

“If God is dead then everything is permissible” is not an argument against a dead God, but an argument against a living God! Why does God allow the sinner to enjoy his sins and then enjoy even more not only the forgiveness of sin by God, but also enjoy the offer of paradise in the hereafter? Poch Suzara

The Bible

We are a nation of bible believers. Not bible readers. It is not parts of the bible we reject, but parts of the bible we accept – that makes us the Sick Man of Asia.

The bible tells us to have faith. But faith means having the free will to choose to avoid knowing what is true.

The bible tells us to love our neighbors and to love our enemies. Well, our neighbors and our enemies are one and same people we work with; vote for; trade and do business with; and indeed, neighbors and enemies together are with us during mass on Sundays! Poch Suzara

God's Children

Why should God tell parents how to raise their children when he had drowned His own? Oh yes, the existence of God might still be a mystery. One thing, however, is no longer a mystery: in this world, God loves the dead more than He gives a hoot about the living. Poch Suzara

Born-Again Atheist

Each and every single one of us, without exception, are born atheist. No child ever comes out of mother’s womb singing “Glory be to God,” or praying the rosary? Our Historical Trouble

Our historical trouble is that we have not prayed hard enough? We have not prayed daily enough, weekly enough, monthly enough, yearly enough, and centuries enough? We need to pray more? Let us be more active and consistent with our prayers? In fact, our parents, grandparents, great grandparents did not pray as much they should have prayed?

If we could only devote more time, more energy, more resources, more ways and more means, and indeed devote more faith in the power of prayer, then and only then will God provide. In the meantime, we Filipinos continue to be famous as the Sick Man of Asia. Poch Suzara

Our System of Education

In our schools, colleges, and universities are teachers and professors who have proven themselves incapable of deeper learning.

Indeed, under our system of education, the search of the truth is a considered something of a sacred confusion, or a holy delusion. Not a matter of, or for, - social, political, or economic reconstruction. Poch Suzara

Our Sick Society

We do not struggle with sin and grime. We struggle with suffering and crime. Our Fall have nothing to do with Original sin. Our spiritual poverty as a people and moral bankruptcy as a nation have only to do with Christianity – a religion founded on lies, deception, and mendacity. Look how Catholic schools, colleges and universities continue to be in the business of frightening Catholic students to believe that love of God is far more beneficial than love of country or love of fellow-citizens.Poch Suzara

Silly and Childish

If we hope to remedy the ills of our sick society the first thing we must do is to discard the habit of silly prayers. Then and only then can we begin to grow as a people and develop as a nation.Otherwise, praying for the Second Coming of the Lord to straighten out the mess of our sick society has always been a sick biblical joke.Poch Suzara

Why Bother as We are Sick Man

All the social improvements, economic progress, political developments, and religious miracles; not to mention the lies and deception and delusions and other historical confusions happening daily to Filipinos in the Philippines are considered blessings from God from heaven. It only proves one thing: - we are, indeed, the Sick Man of Asia!

But then again, why should we Filipinos bother to grow as a people and to mature as
a nation since we have been educated to believe that God will provide for us; if not Jesus, the son of God, will soon return to remedy the ills of our sick society. Poch Suzara

God's Love

If God does not love the Jews, His chosen people, why should God love the Filipinos, His Christian people? The difference between a Christian and a Jew is that the former is a lunatic, the latter idiotic. Our World

Our world will be destroyed not by science but by religion. Even the wild animals whom no one can accuse of being Muslims or Christians or Jews will be destroyed. Only in the Philippines

Prayer Works

Prayer works. But only for Catholics. Ask Erap. He prayed to God for pardon. Our Catholic president GMA with God's approval pardoned ex-president Erap for his crimes against the Republic of the Philippines.Too bad Adam and Eve were not Catholics. Free Will

Free will - God’s greatest gift to man. But if you have the free will to be a Christian or a Jew or a Muslim¸ then there is either something wrong with God or something wrong with free will. For my part, I’d rather have good will and wish the Christian and the Jews and the Muslim to stop hating and stop killing each other so we can all helped establish peace on earth and goodwill to all men. Cycle of Life

A man gives love in order to get sex. A woman gives sex in order to get love. In either case, the result is a child born and raised and taught to believe not in the biological union between a male sperm and a female egg, but only to believe what the religious morons have been teaching for centuries - that God made man in his own image and likeness. Right or Wrong

Perhaps, no one is right or wrong. Each is simply on a different level of consciousness.
