God’s Existence

It’s a good thing God is omni-absent. Otherwise, if God were omni-present, He would obviously be such a totally useless God. Look at the perpetual state of our world with God producing and directing its terrible daily mess year in and year out. Forget free will. It arrived too late. After all, God created the world in the beginning and then created free will in the end. What a messy set of divine priorities. And to think that the frightened theologians have assured us that that God is not only All-knowing, but also all-powerful! Poch Suzara

Thank you for your kind and wise words. Thanks for bringing Light in to the world.

I just read your post over on the "Jewcy" Sam Harris piece and was touched by it's clarity.

Take good care of yourself and keep up the great thinking.

The Xian god is invisible and mute. No one sees him. No one hears him. And if anyone today seriously claims he's seen god or has heard god in his/her head, shrinks are immediately called in.

The Xian god is deaf. Prayers don't work. Those who say prayers work are either deluded or just plain superstitious, cherry picking the instances when they can get away with a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.

The Xian god is heartless. He does not lift a finger to feed the emaciated children in Africa, nor stop the genocides around the world, nor protect girls and children from being molested, nor save typhoon, hurricane, tsunami, tornado, lightning, flood, ... victims. In fact he created and dumped these "acts of His" on this planet. Any father who was more than able and capable of protecting his children and alleviating their suffering but didn't would've been prosecuted.

The Xian god is brainless. He designed the human eye backwards with the wires (nerves) on the top of the light-gathering photocells instead of behind them! He left a useless organ--the appendix--and made it prone to serious infection. He created a diversity of species and yet 99% of them are now extinct. He "inspired" ancient authors to write down his word but then forgot to preserve the original manuscripts! And he's so brainless His Word is full of contradictions, scientific/factual booboos, and downright evil prescriptions.

The Xian god is a wacko. As Julia Sweeney says, this deity created humans imperfect then punish them for being imperfect (at one point wiping out all homo sapiens save 8), and to top it off because of their imperfection he sent his son (who actually is himself) to be killed by these imperfect creatures of his so that they could be redeemed of their imperfection. One word: Nuts.
