The Beauty of Atheism versusThe Evil Monster

Before the Filipino can seriously grow as a people and seriously develop as a nation – an evil monster must first be destroyed. The evil monster otherwise more known as Christianity in the Philippines If, over the next 400 years, Christianity continues to dominate the Filipino mind and control the Filipino heart – we shall only be enjoying nothing but more of the same love of God up there by hating one another down here. Indeed, under these conditions, we shall only look forward to a better future for ourselves as citizens of the Republic of the Philippines by migrating to, residing at, and getting employed in, - foreign countries. Indeed, foreign countries that are blessed not only with freedom OF religion, but freedom FROM religion. Thanks to the power of science and technology. I said it before, I say it again. In this already 21st century, it is time for us Filipinos to dump our faith in theism and instead begin to embrace atheism. Take a serious look at the sensibility and the beauty of Atheism: Atheism helps us to see reality as it actually is, without the mental filters of superstition preventing us from directly experiencing it. Atheism allows us to experience our selves, without the debasing idea that we are innately evil or sinful. Atheism allows us to experience true interpersonal love, without any imaginary supernatural intervention. Atheism gives us the freedom to think for ourselves, to construct our own meanings. We each can choose what we think has value. Atheism shows us that we can gain meaning by seeking to make our world a better place, for ourselves and our children's children. Atheism teaches us to take responsibility for our behaviors in the here and now, not for a reward in an imaginary afterlife. Atheism lets us see that we have to make choices about our future. No big daddy god is going to protect us from bad decisions. Atheism teaches us to treasure this moment, this life, and this world — because we realize that it’s all the world we have. Poch Suzara

I am with you 100%, all the way, in your proposal to exterminate religion, in particular Christianity, completely from the lives of Filipinos--if that is at all possible.

Realistically, however, that is a very big IF!

Yes, in place of religion--its Bible, its "God," its angels, its demons, its heaven, its hell, its purgatory, its miracles, its superstitions--let there by the light of SCIENCE.

But how are atheists or non-believers going to go about accomplishing this daunting task in a country which is, to all intents and purposes, completely hooked on RELIGION, Christianity, and all that it represents?

As a general proposition, Filipinos accept Christianity pretty much automatically or rather involuntarily starting from birth. Filipino children inherit Christianity from their parents who inherited it from their parents--and so on in a backward linear progression.

Even as a Filipino attains the age of maturity, the age of discernment, and should be assumed to use his/her faculty of reason to start asking questions about his Christianity and its sources, and what it's really all about, no such thing happens. He/she goes on blithely and merrily being a "Christian," unquestioningly and even blindly. I would not at all be surprised if he/she is proud of being a Christian.

And consider this :thousands of Filipinos have had the good fortune of getting a college education. Many of these even succeed in getting a Master's or a PhD degree from local or even from such reputable schools as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth and other Ivy League universities in the U.S.

But, tell me, how many of these highly "educated" Filipinos, who have had the benefit of learning what SCIENCE is all about, and who therefore have to be assumed able to use their faculty of reason to lead them inevitably and necessarily to the conclusion that religion, any religion, is nothing but a fraud---surely the biggest fraud--ever perpetrated on Mankind by a few clever and manipulative men long ago, for the nefarious purpose of controlling and manipulating them, actually renounce their Christianity?

Probably the honest answer to this question is, at best, only a very few!

That is the conundrum we atheists must face.
