A Man without books is the poorest of Men
Philippine Daily Inquirer
Letter to the Editors,
Dear Sirs:
As a high school expelled student of some 60 years ago, I read with much pride and gusto the sane letter written by Ryan Maboloc published today in the PDI, Feb. 2, 2012. Indeed, without books a man suffers poverty of the worst kind: the poverty of the mind and heart.
I myself have written before - corruption as the foundation of the Filipino way of life comes mostly from our corrupt system of education.
Philosopher Bertrand Russell summarized it: "We are all born ignorant, not corrupt. We are made corrupt by education." Cheers, Poch Suzara
