Hitler’s Mein Kampf

Adolf Hitler wrote: “Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” Hitler was born, raised, and educated as a Catholic in Germany. Pope Pius the supported Hitler morally and financially. It was widely known that Hitler was out to slaughter the Jews – the killers of Christ. Hitler’s Mein Kampf was never a banned book at anytime as per the Index Expurgatorius – a list of forbidden or restricted material deemed morally or politically harmful by the authorities. Our own Rizal’s Noli and Fili were banned books for Catholic readers. In other words, Rizal was a sinner in the eyes the Vatican. Hitler was a saint. Poch Suzara

A Religious Moron Myself

I was once myself a religious moron. It was during kindergarten, grade school, and high school days. Confession every Friday. Mass and communion every Sunday. Prayers morning, noon, and night. I must have uttered more than a million times our school prayer: “Saint John Baptist De la Salle, pray for us. Leave Jesus in our hearts. Forever.”

I believed then with all of my heart and soul that God created man in his own image and likeness. Until I read a simple biological truth never revealed to me before. “Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a death rate of 100 per cent.”

I decided to grow up. Slowly, gradually, and indeed painfully, I managed to throw all of my moronic beliefs out the window. Never have I felt a useless load off my back that crippled me then with poverty of the worst kind – the poverty of the mind and heart. Poch Suzara

Men of Faith

Men of faith do not want to know. Like misguided children, they only want to believe.

We Filipinos are men of faith. It means we have no faith in our country. In this 21st century, however, we still have faith that as our country grows darker, the promised return of the Son grows brighter.

Ignorance and fanaticism is perpetually busy and it needs feeding. All of our famous religious leaders – the Catholic bishops, Mike Velarde of El Shaddai, Eddie Villanueva of Jesus is Lord Movement, Brother Eli Soriano of Ang Dating Daan, including my teachers at La Salle University during grade school and high school proved themselves experts with the works of the Lord feeding ignorance and fanaticism.

Isn’t free will a wonderful thing? After we faithfully feed ignorance and fanaticism in our own country, we Filipinos then migrate to other countries so that we can begin also to feed and support our family especially with self-respect and dignity. Poch Suzara

Another Great and Rare Filipino

Dear Poch,

I have long maintained that corruption in the Philippines is systemic.

A great majority of Filipinos (out of a total of around 88 million) are in the clutches of chronic and dehumanizing poverty.

Poverty and Corruption: that is a deadly combination.

Which explains why the Philippines has been drifting aimlessly all these terrible years since independence in 1946--that's a total of 61 years!--like a rudderless ship, tossed willy-nilly here and there by an angry sea.

I am afraid it will continue to do so--on and on...on and on--ad infinitum, or till hell freezes over.

Only in the Philippines

We have no need to visit insane asylums to meet with the mentally ill or spiritually sick people. We already came from such places. We are products of such institutions. They are called schools, colleges, and universities. Indeed, they are not even educational, but rather commercial enterprises. Among the wealthiest of theologians are the owners, if not major stockholders of schools, colleges, and universities throughout the Philippines. Poch Suzara

A 21st century Rare Filipino

A 21st century rare Filipino Louie Fernandez wrote: “If the Filipino masses and our cowardly politicians were not like sheep to their priests and the Filipino Catholic hierarchy, and these intelligent priests were not mere mindless errand boys to the Vatican, this tragedy would not have happened.” I entirely agree without question.

If only our columnists and editors have the intellectual rarity of a Louie Fernandez – there is hope for our country. As it is, every year, we only seem to enjoy reading about the failure of our values and beliefs under the success of nothing in this country except Christianity. Poch Suzara

Mayor Jojo Binay

Mayor Jojo Binay of Makati said that: “Our country is not only bankrupt economically, but also bankrupt morally.” Phil Star Oct. 17, 2007.

May I also add bankrupt biblically? Look how, in this 21st century, we continue to pray to a higher power to remedy the ills of our perpetually sick society?

We are, indeed, a corrupt people because of our corrupt faith in corrupt values and beliefs for the sake of the corrupt salvation of our corrupt souls.

To think corruption was brought into this land by corrupt Spanish friars, They too were gifted with corrupt free will from a corrupt country that was then ruled by a corrupt King.

Indeed, consider those corrupt Spanish religious criminals: they sold the Philippines to the United States of America, a nation just as greedy, selfish, stupid, insane, and indeed, just as corrupt, - for $20,000,000 dollars. Poch Suzara

Talk to God

If you talk to God, you are praying. If God talks to you, you are hallucinating. God talked to Moses. Golly, God even dictated the Ten Commandments to Moses. Oh well, that was during the biblical century.

In this 21st century, however, God talked to the President of the USA; and, to the President of the Philippines.

As to what exactly God talked to them about, even the brightest among the Harvard University theologians had no idea. Poch Suzara

Issac Asimov

“Imagine the people who believe such things and who are not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible was written. And it is these ignorant people, the most uneducated, the most unimaginative, the most unthinking among us, who would make themselves the guides and leaders of us all; who would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us; who would invade our schools and libraries and homes. I personally resent it bitterly." . . . Isaac Asimov Oh, my dear Isaac Asimov, if only your were the kind of teachers I had in La Salle grade and high school, never would I have ever engineered my own expulsion... Poch Suzara

The Seven Deadly Sins

I do not know about you my dear reader. But my favorite sin is anger. I love to get angry. Especially at theological treadmill forever trying to keep up with the religious morons - the leaders of our sick society. Especially as they are inspired by divinity in cahoots with deviltry to frighten everyone else from infancy to senility. But then again, it is true, no one has the right to be angry; especially emotionally. But we all do have not only the duty, but also the responsibility to get angry intellectually; especially at the social, political, and environmental garbage around us perpetually in our sick society. A Message from George Carlin

Too bad a famous columnist in this God-forsaken country like my friend Tony Abaya seems to be frightened as well to acknowledge openly and publicly that George Carlin is also a famous American atheist: The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares? With your kind permission and with thanks to Tony Abaya, I am publishing your piece in my blog read by some 100,000 readers in some 100 countries. Best wishes always, your fellow atheist - Poch Suzara

The Worst Kind of Poverty

The worst kind of poverty is the poverty of the mind and heart. We must thank our schools, colleges, and universities for such miracles. Indeed, thanks to our poor system of education, we have been taught to have faith in our poor beliefs and poor values that obviously have nothing to do with our health as a people and wealth as a nation. Poverty is the symptom; Christianity is the disease. We are not Christians because we are poor, we are poor because we are Christians. That’s all. Poch Suzara Facebook# Twitter# Google#

Life After Death

If there is life and happiness with God after death, then the death of a religious loved one should be an occasion for celebration, not commiseration.

Let’s be honest and frank. If there were evidences that there is a better world to come after we are dead, then suicide should one of the greatest of virtues, if not the greatest of man’s pleasures.

Imagine the planet earth, due to daily suicide, there would be no such thing as overpopulation, poverty problem, violence and wars. All babies would be born loved, needed, and wanted – the very foundation for peace on earth and goodwill to all men. Poch Suzara

What’s not True

What's wrong with believing what’s not true? It is the same as believing that 2 plus 2 is not 4.

Now let’s ask: what’s wrong with believing what is false? Nothing wrong with it except that it is usually referred to as “blind faith” – the foundation and the promotion of superstition.

But then again: what’s wrong with believing in superstition? Nothing wrong with it except that superstition is precisely what makes the Philippines - the Sick Nation of Asia.

Historian Teodoro A. Agoncillo summarized it without thinking twice: “Self-deception is the worst tragedy of the Filipino as a people.” Poch Suzara

It is Fantastic

Most religious people apparently live in a world of fantasy. They know nothing of the existence of God and its mystery. They know nothing of the existence of love and its complexity. And yet they tell me that even as I am a rebel against stupid religion - God loves me with all sincerity and for all eternity. Wow! Poch Suzara

I am Told

I am told that I should be a little bit more polite and not call any one a religious moron. Well, I often thought of calling them religious idiots but I really don’t want to insult the idiots. I think the idiots are less harmful than the religious morons! Indeed, when I was in grade school and high school, my teachers were not idiots. They were religious morons! Poch Suzara

Cats and Dogs

Cats and dogs in America live on a yearly budget of $50,000,000,000 ( Billion ) Pet Food industry in the USA. Indeed, cats and dogs in America enjoy a higher standard of living than most Filipinos who live under subhuman conditions in the Philippines. To think that cats and dogs in America have never been blessed with such miracles derived from the Old and the New Testament, or derived from El Shaddai improvement, or even derived from Jesus is Lord movement. Wealth Stolen in the Philippines

Overpopulation means that the number of people in a society surpasses the economic basis for providing them with adequate food, ample clothing, decent housing, quality school facilities¸ meaningful employment, and creative leisure. Of course a men of blind faith do not see the beauty of these earthly goods. They can only believe what other men of blind faith have frightened them to believe. Especially when they were little boys ang girls at home and in school, that: - God will always provide.

If it is true that the Philippines has no overpopulation problem and that our problem of vast poverty is really due to unequal distribution of wealth as provided by God, I ask: when will the Vatican bank begin to return and distribute to poor Filipinos the trillions of dollars stolen by religion big business in the Philippines – the only Catholic country in Asia since the 16 century? Poch Suzara

Our Politicians

Our politicians are more at home with prayers than they are learning as readers.

Political power is not derived from divine tolerance. It comes mostly from people who are proud of human ignorance. Poch Suzara

The Bible

“Study the bible to be wise; believe it to be safe; practice it to be holy.” Philippine Star Nov. 17, 2007.

If the bible was truly written by inspired authors of God and if God made any sense at all, no one would need to acquire a modicum of common sense to do what any sane man should do after studying, believing and practicing the bible: throw the silly book out the window. The bible is a good book; unfortunately, good for nothing. Look at the results of bible teachings in the Philippines – the only Christian country since the 16h century.

For my part, I wasted precious years of my youth studying, believing, and practicing such biblical childish nonsense. Poch Suzara

The Evil called Religion

Nobel Prize-wining American physicist Steven Weinberg said: “Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you’d have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion.”

What is even more scandalous, however, are the people who invented good religion. They themselves have turned out to be good; unfortunately, good for nothing. Poch Suzara

From Adamson University

A college student in Adamson University proudly commented that it is ok for me not to believe in God since God believes in me. Well, I replied: I find it enigmatic that a God could also be in the childish business of believing or disbelieving anything! What happened to that more matured business of “knowing?”

“Believing” is the business of misguided children. “Knowing” is the business of intellectually courageous men and culturally secured grown-up women. Poch Suzara

Who is the greater Scholar

The one who studies the life and times of Jose Rizal; or, the one who studies the life and times of Rizal’s enemy – Christianity – the religion that put Rizal to death in the 19th century, and that continues to put to death the hearts and minds of hundreds of millions of innocent Filipinos to believe in a lot of religious hokum since the 16th century? Poch Suzara

Human Stupidity

Human stupidity is a lesser evil as it tries to outshine anything temporary. It is, however, the greatest of evil as it tries to outshine infinity. Poch Suzara

How to be a Decent Human Being

Take care of your body. Especially your brain. The best kind of wealth is health. There is more to life than just to be a stupid believer. One must never be afraid to be an intelligent thinker. To hell with your silly soul. It does not exist. There is no such thing as hell after death. There is no such thing as a better world to come after death. If there were, there never was any one who knew anything about it, or any one alive today who knows anything about it. Not even the charlatan at the Vatican who pretends to be the Vicar of the Christian Wotan. The whole idea about the meaning or the purpose of life is that we must only try to leave this world a better place than we found it. Otherwise, there is very little reason for any of us to have ever lived. Poch Suzara

Friends and Relatives

Friends and relatives keep wondering what in hell am I doing in this world needlessly creating enemies for myself as I am expounding, quite openly and consistently - the beauty and the power of free thought? Christianity, Poverty, and Democracy

Poverty is to the poor what Insanity is to the rich. Combine the two evil forces together and they add up to the history of Christianity. In the Philippines it is called “The family that prays together stays together" - especially to foster our freedom as a people and to enhance our democracy as a nation.” Poch Suzara

Deadly Religion

“Every cause, “ wrote Paul Ehrlich, “is a lost cause unless there is population control.” With all due respect, I do not quite agree. The more people there are existing under subhuman conditions, indeed, the more misery and poverty that exist in the world, the more the cause of religion becomes a winning cause.

Christianity always had a vested interest in human suffering. Christianity had been quite a success by capitalizing on human suffering. She has been enormously successful in insuring her own existence through the perpetuation of human suffering via blind faith. Especially in the Philippines. The only Christian country in Asia since the 16th century. Poch Suzara

Jose Rizal

Rizal was arrested by the Christians, incarcerated by the Christians, executed by the Christians, and then his corpse put inside an old sack was thrown in Paco cemetery by the Christians. Indeed, Rizal was never given a Christian burial.
To believe that Rizal died as a Christian only makes Rizal what we Filipinos are today - the Sick Man of Asia - still devoted and faithful to Christian values and beliefs. Poch Suzara

Refuse to Think

When you refuse to think, someone else will determine thoughts for you. In the meantime, the church leaders have only to remind you that God gifted you with a free will so that you no longer have to think, especially for yourself. Poch Suzara

Madness

Madness comes as a way to avoid the memory of pain and suffering. Thanks to our mad system of education, we are all, each and every one of us, - victims not only of madness but also victims of education. Poch Suzara

Bible Inspiration

Bible inspiration usually depends upon the fear and the ignorance of those who do not bother to read properly the Word of God.

In the meantime, human happiness is hardly inspired in the bible. Man is destined to be free. Whether freedom will make him happy is an issue explained neither in the Old nor in the New Testament. What matters is God’s will. That God is a cold-blooded perfection quite lost in self-admiration. Poch Suzara

Theology

Theology has nothing to do with science or even with philosophy. Theology has nothing to do with what is true or false. In fact, theology is the study of nothing. Consider after all these past many centuries, the theologians still do not know what exactly they are talking about! In fact, they do not even know what “knowing” means. Poch Suzara

Religious Founders

The failure of organized religions is that all of them made a mockery of what their founders taught. And why not, since the founders of most religions have not been flexible thinkers, but only rigid, if not reckless, believers.

Consider the encouragement of false beliefs and to protect sacred lies by discouraging, if not prohibiting, honest discussion and free inquiry. The horror could only be the result of childish believing based upon fear and ignorance. Not due to intelligent matured thinking based upon the search of the truth. Poch Suzara

Organized Religions

Combine organized mediocrity, organized hypocrisy, and organized dishonesty, not to mention organized gimcrackery together and they all add up to what is more known as organized religions of this world. Poch Suzara

Jesus Christ

For my part, as an atheist, I have neither love nor respect for Jesus Christ. For one thing, Jesus never gave a hoot as to whether his father married his mother. For another, Jesus never did anything important for his mother and for women in general. But Jesus would wash the feet of his stupid apostles. And to think that this is the same Jesus who, crucified on the cross, cried out: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Indeed, the same Jesus who, during his lifetime, also declared that the end of the world is coming. Poch Suzara

No Atheist in the Corrupt Government

Everybody admits that almost all of our men and women employed, installed, or elected to be in Philippine government are corrupt. Nobody, however, has the guts to admit that there are no atheists, either elected or appointed in the Philippine government. Indeed, the corrupt officials and some other 1.7 million corrupt government employees believe, love, worship, and adore God. for my part, as an atheist, I say this is a most favorable argument for Atheism to grow, to expand, and to develop in the Philippines. Poch Suzara

The Problem with the Lord

The problem with the Lord is that he is not omnipresent anywhere out there, but only omni-absent everywhere down here. Well, we are told that whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad. This is just the first part of the story. The second part of the story is that after the gods have done destruction, they eternally play the game of “hide and seek.” Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

Christianity

Christianity has always been a great success in the Philippines. Due to our Christian values and infantile beliefs – endless corruption, mediocrity, hypocrisy, and poverty have also been quite a success as a way of life in our sick and crippled society. Poch Suzara

World History

In world history, there never was a conflict between good and evil. It has always been about war between two evils. And that is how perpetually stupid we all are as human beings on this tiny and insignificant planet. Poch Suzara

Children – our only Hope

The only hope we have for the future of our country is with our children. Too bad they are in school being taught to believe the same stupid nonsense that we were taught to believe too when we were kids in school. Such as death is more important than birth, and that there is a better world to come after we are all dead! Poch Suzara

Human Greatness

Human greatness is not a function of success. Only the mediocre and the Philistine are in the rat-race for success. Well, you may win in the rat-race for wealth, power, and glory, but you are still a rat. Poch Suzara

Sinful Thinking

Believing is easy. Thinking is hard. That is why we are a nation of childish believers, not matured thinkers. In fact, in our schools, colleges, and universities - we have been educated to believe that to think is a sin. To believe will save our souls away from damnation. Poch Suzara

Faith

Faith is believing in things that have nothing to do with the truth. Thus, religious morons have faith in the Revealed Truth only because the truth has not yet been revealed.
As to whether divinity or deviltry will ever reveal the truth, not even faith knows! Poch Suzara

It is truly Amazing

In recent decades homosexuals and the lesbians have come out of the closet. Openly and publicly, they have courageously exposed their real identity for everyone to tolerate.

The atheists, however, are still playing hide and seek inside the closet. They are still afraid to rock the religious boat. Atheist are still careful not to displease the homosexuals and the lesbians who are owners of schools, colleges, and universities, including the so-called “freaks” of nature as priest and nuns in the priesthood industry. To think that it takes a much higher I.Q. to be an atheist. Poch Suzara

Childish Religion

A religion that attaches blame to the faults of the created rather than point to the faults of the creator has got to be a religion for the religious morons.

Such is our Christian religion. The religion of the losers and the failures. Why should we pay for the original sin of Adam and Eve? They were not even Filipinos! Golly, Adam and Eve were not even Catholics. They never enjoyed the benefits of the sacrament of Baptism. Golly, nobody even told Adam and Eve about the power of prayer and the forgiveness of sin and crime, specially if one were the former Catholic president of the Republic of the Philippines. Poch Suzara

Freedom and Religion

Freedom of religion is good. Freedom from religion is better. Freedom of atheism, by atheism, and for atheism is the best. Look at world history. The atheists have never hated or declared war against other atheists for not believing in the existence of God! Poch Suzara

Most Religious Morons

Most religious morons live lost lives. Since childhood they have been not only frightened but also blinded to look for a God always omni-present nowhere out there; but always omni-absent everywhere down here. Poch Suzara

I am Told

I am told by friends and relatives that in the end before I leave this world, I will find God. Well, I said it before and I say it again: a God who is always lost, indeed, always omni-absent is not worth finding. Poch Suzara

Kill

Kill one poor fellow and you are a silly murderer. Kill millions of people and you are a silly conqueror. Kill eventually every man, woman, and child in this world and you are not only a silly God but also in cahoots with a silly devil. Poch Suzara

A Nation of Religious Morons

We are a nation of religious morons. Even in our schools, colleges, and universities – they teach how to save and how to love not our country, but only how to love and how to save our stupid individual souls! Poch Suzara

On Being Spiritual

Most people believe that being spiritual is only about listening to others preaching bombastic garbage from the holy bible. On the contrary, being spiritual is about questioning everything, especially questioning the bible as it contains plenty of nothing. After more than 4,000 years of messages from God in the Old Testament and from Jesus, the Son of God, in the New Testament – look at our world still sapped with so many destructive religious messages such as God loves the world. Corruption

Corruption may have been invented in China. But thanks to the pardon of crime and the forgiveness of sin - corruption was perfected as a way of life; especially in Congress and in the Senate of the Philippine government. They seek not solutions to national problems, but seek instead only money and power. When they do get money, plenty of it, money made either by lies or by deception, or made by hook or by crook, they just continue to be selfish, greedy, stupid, insecure, corrupt, and insane. Wow, they are even so proud when you address them as “your honor.” After all, they are the elected members of the House of Representathieves. Poch Suzara

God Revealed in Nature

Nature is terrible and cruel. It cares nothing for human values. Nature is also wasteful. Moreover, nature has only to do with birth, death, and decay. Nothing is permanent in nature. As an atheist I admit that I am a part of nature as nature is part of me. Now where or when or how has God ever revealed himself in nature? Poch Suzara

Why Something

Why the existence of something rather than nothing? The implication is that there is a creator responsible for that something. Well, this is all fine and dandy. But why only a male God responsible for that something? Why not instead a female goddess responsible for everything?

Quality Education

If quality education starts with the teachers, the government can do a great deal to transform by improving the conditions for teachers. Unfortunately, this is not enough. What is mostly needed is the scientific outlook or, simply, the love of the truth in classrooms. Bertrand Russell explained it in plain language: “I wish to propose for the reader’s favorable consideration a doctrine which may, I fear, appear wildly paradoxical and subversive. The doctrine in question is this: that it is undesirable to believe a proposition when there is no ground whatever for supposing it true." If this doctrine were widespread and generally accepted and practiced in our schools, colleges, and universities, it will revolutionize from backward to forward the Filipino way of life in the Philippines. Poch Suzara

Atheist Defined

Dictionary says an atheist is one who denies the existence of God. This is hogwash. What we atheists deny is that God has absolutely anything to do with existence. Otherwise, the proofs of the existence of God should have already been established centuries ago. In this already 21st century – the Christians, the Jews, and the Muslims still hate and kill each other over who or what such weird supernatural beings should be called: - God? Allah? Yahweh? Or what have you! Now let us assume for the sake of the argument that God exist somewhere out there. Does God really have such an uneasy vanity as to be terrestrially upset just because we atheists do not believe in his terrestrial existence? If we atheists were able to declare that God does not exist, how come God could not be return the compliment by also declaring that the atheists do not exist? Yet here we are existing as clean and as bright as the sun – the real creator of life on this earth! If we must believe in something, let us believe in the existence of the sun. The sun is clean and bright even as it burns itself out in the process. Poch Suzara

Ignorance

Ignorance establishes its own blindness; prevents its own enlightenment; and, belittles human intelligence. Ignorance is bliss and has always been precisely what the subject of theology has been all about. Look how the theologians are still ignorant of the knowledge whether God as a He, a She, or an It!

Newspapers

Our newspapers seem incomplete unless they report death, murder, rape, robbery, and other forms of lawlessness and crime, not to mention the life and times of the tootie frooties and patuties famous in our sick society. The few recognize it as social insanity. The many believe it to be the miracles of “freedom and democracy.” Poch Suzara

Our Most Pressing Problem

What is the most pressing issue besetting our country today?

I say blind faith. We are still blind with so much faith in the power of stupid prayer.

During the past 400 years, we never missed praying daily to a higher power to remedy the ills of our sick country.

In the meantime, we are a corrupt people because of our corrupt values and corrupt beliefs.

In this 21st century, we are still praying to Mary, Mother of God, to pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen?” Poch Suzara

100 Trillion Cells

The 100 trillion cells that are bundled up together comprising our body are not human cells, but tiny animal cells. It is amazing how such tiny creatures together could evolve into our physical form and still more amazing how such little devils could evolve as thinking human beings.

Too bad silly religion managed to intrude into the picture to damaged man’s thinking capacity; especially to believe that a God made man in his own image and likeness. Poch Suzara

Religion Against Science

All the melodramatic quarrels of religion against science should have already been settled thousands of years ago. The findings of science should have already been reported in the bible – a book written by inspired authors of an All-knowing God. Obviously, God failed to inspire his bible authors about the wonders of science because God knew nothing of the scientific way of thinking.
In school, we were taught to believe that God is omni-present. And yet, God has always been omni-absent. God was not present to edit the works of His inspired authors who recklessly wrote such nonsense as “Cain knew his wife,” or that “Joshua commanded the sun to stop,” or that God told Noah to save not his neighbors, but to “save the animals,” or that dead characters in the Old and in the New testament were able to resurrect themselves back to life. Poch Suzara

Russell and Dawkins

Bertrand Russell was once accused of being “lecherous, salacious, libidinous, lustful, venerous, erotomaniac, aphrodisiac, atheistic, irreverent, narrow-minded, bigoted, untruthful, and bereft of moral fibre.”

On the contrary, Russell was one of the kindest philosophers who ever lived. In his time in many countries, he intellectually taught millions of people to be courageous with self-respect and to be comfortable with human dignity.

Next to Russell, I have the greatest respect and admiration for the famous atheist-biologist Richard Dawkins. He recently published “The God Delusion” – a best seller in the USA and Britain, it is now also coming out in 30 foreign editions, shooting onto best seller lists in Italy, Germany, Brazil and Spain.

I particularly enjoyed reading Dawkins’ description of God of the Old Testament - “arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction… a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sado-masochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” Poch Suzara

If God is Dead

“If God is dead then everything is permissible” is not an argument against a dead God, but an argument against a living God! Why does God allow the sinner to enjoy his sins and then enjoy even more not only the forgiveness of sin by God, but also enjoy the offer of paradise in the hereafter? Poch Suzara

The Bible

We are a nation of bible believers. Not bible readers. It is not parts of the bible we reject, but parts of the bible we accept – that makes us the Sick Man of Asia.

The bible tells us to have faith. But faith means having the free will to choose to avoid knowing what is true.

The bible tells us to love our neighbors and to love our enemies. Well, our neighbors and our enemies are one and same people we work with; vote for; trade and do business with; and indeed, neighbors and enemies together are with us during mass on Sundays! Poch Suzara

God's Children

Why should God tell parents how to raise their children when he had drowned His own? Oh yes, the existence of God might still be a mystery. One thing, however, is no longer a mystery: in this world, God loves the dead more than He gives a hoot about the living. Poch Suzara

Born-Again Atheist

Each and every single one of us, without exception, are born atheist. No child ever comes out of mother’s womb singing “Glory be to God,” or praying the rosary? A Born-Again Christian is a childish myth! More truth to tell, however, is that after that dreadful theism has been shoved into our innocent minds, we can only be born-again atheist! Poch Suzara

Our Historical Trouble

Our historical trouble is that we have not prayed hard enough? We have not prayed daily enough, weekly enough, monthly enough, yearly enough, and centuries enough? We need to pray more? Let us be more active and consistent with our prayers? In fact, our parents, grandparents, great grandparents did not pray as much they should have prayed?

If we could only devote more time, more energy, more resources, more ways and more means, and indeed devote more faith in the power of prayer, then and only then will God provide. In the meantime, we Filipinos continue to be famous as the Sick Man of Asia. Poch Suzara

Our System of Education

In our schools, colleges, and universities are teachers and professors who have proven themselves incapable of deeper learning.

Indeed, under our system of education, the search of the truth is a considered something of a sacred confusion, or a holy delusion. Not a matter of, or for, - social, political, or economic reconstruction. Poch Suzara

Our Sick Society

We do not struggle with sin and grime. We struggle with suffering and crime. Our Fall have nothing to do with Original sin. Our spiritual poverty as a people and moral bankruptcy as a nation have only to do with Christianity – a religion founded on lies, deception, and mendacity. Look how Catholic schools, colleges and universities continue to be in the business of frightening Catholic students to believe that love of God is far more beneficial than love of country or love of fellow-citizens.Poch Suzara

Silly and Childish

If we hope to remedy the ills of our sick society the first thing we must do is to discard the habit of silly prayers. Then and only then can we begin to grow as a people and develop as a nation.Otherwise, praying for the Second Coming of the Lord to straighten out the mess of our sick society has always been a sick biblical joke.Poch Suzara

Quezonian Prophecy

I prefer a government run like hell by Filipinos, to a government run like heaven by Americans” declared President Manuel Quezon decades ago. As if it made any difference to the millions of the losers and the failures living under sub-human conditions in this God-forsaken country! Poch Suzara

Why Bother as We are Sick Man

All the social improvements, economic progress, political developments, and religious miracles; not to mention the lies and deception and delusions and other historical confusions happening daily to Filipinos in the Philippines are considered blessings from God from heaven. It only proves one thing: - we are, indeed, the Sick Man of Asia!

But then again, why should we Filipinos bother to grow as a people and to mature as
a nation since we have been educated to believe that God will provide for us; if not Jesus, the son of God, will soon return to remedy the ills of our sick society. Poch Suzara

God's Love

If God does not love the Jews, His chosen people, why should God love the Filipinos, His Christian people? The difference between a Christian and a Jew is that the former is a lunatic, the latter idiotic. But then again what can be expected of a creator who, at the same time, has always been both diabolic and angelic? Ah, let’s not ignore the Muslim – bombastic, drastic, and fanatic! Poch Suzara

Our World

Our world will be destroyed not by science but by religion. Even the wild animals whom no one can accuse of being Muslims or Christians or Jews will be destroyed. Such is the power of madness - the gift from the gods. As to why the gods are mad at our world - your opinon is just as stupid as everyone elses. Poch Suzara

Only in the Philippines

I want to be a doctor when I grow up so I can be a nurse. I want to be a librarian when I grow up. I don’t have to read books. I Just need to put them in shelves or pull them out of shelves and get wages for my intellectual work.” Poch Suzara

Prayer Works

Prayer works. But only for Catholics. Ask Erap. He prayed to God for pardon. Our Catholic president GMA with God's approval pardoned ex-president Erap for his crimes against the Republic of the Philippines.Too bad Adam and Eve were not Catholics. Nobody told them about the power of prayer. The original Sin need not have given birth to Catholicism. Poch Suzara

Free Will

Free will - God’s greatest gift to man. But if you have the free will to be a Christian or a Jew or a Muslim¸ then there is either something wrong with God or something wrong with free will. For my part, I’d rather have good will and wish the Christian and the Jews and the Muslim to stop hating and stop killing each other so we can all helped establish peace on earth and goodwill to all men. To count on God for the creation of world peace and sanity has always proved foolish. Poch Suzara

The Customer

The customer is always right. Not, however, according to God with Adam and Eve. They were not only wrong, but humiliated also, stripped off their dignity and self-respect as God’s first customers. Poch Suzara

My Kind of Prayer

“God give us all we need so that we can give those in need.” Deut. 15:7-11.
Here is my kind of prayer: “God, never mind giving to me. Just give to them. After all, yours is the power, the kingdom, and the glory. Lord, I have nothing and nothing is more than enough for me! Poch Suzara

Cycle of Life

A man gives love in order to get sex. A woman gives sex in order to get love. In either case, the result is a child born and raised and taught to believe not in the biological union between a male sperm and a female egg, but only to believe what the religious morons have been teaching for centuries - that God made man in his own image and likeness. Poch Suzara

Right or Wrong

Perhaps, no one is right or wrong. Each is simply on a different level of consciousness. Unfortunately, most people have not been educated enough to expand or to increase their level of consciousness. They have only been indoctrinated to carry on in life by being thoughtless, if not mindless. Poch Suzara

Fear

As fear become rampant people turn to God. Unfortunately, there is an increasing sense even among the religious morons themselves that the word GOD now rings with a hollow emptiness. At any rate, it is good to know that most Christians are beginning to wake up to the fact that Christianity came into being first and foremost as a death-conquering religion. Sadly, however, achieved with sacred lies and other biblical promises. Such that death is not the end of life, but the beginning of a new chapter in life.

Now modern physicists have scientifically dissolved into nothing the materiality of matter. A body, in our case the human body is, in the ultimate analysis, nothing but a system of bundled energy – a thing that can never be created or destroyed. Poch Suzara

Most Men

Most men love to play the game of cards, balls, clubs, rackets, boards, suits, sticks, wheels, rods, bows and arrows and guns.

With me, the mental freak that I am, rightly or wrongly, I only love to play with ideas. Ideas, no doubt, have tremendously encouraged me to examine my own life as I found it worth living.

The love of playing with ideas seemed more glorious, incomparably, than the lust of the ways of the flesh and the dross of the world. For my part, I hardly wanted millions. I only wanted answers to my questions! “Seek ye first the good things of the mind,” Bacon admonishes us, “and the rest will either be supplied or its loss will not be felt.” For me, mental health is the best kind of wealth. Poch Suzara

It is Understandable

It is understandable why Jesus never lived in a happy home and never enjoyed love and affection from either of his parents during his upbringing. After all, his father never married his mother.

Jesus said, and I could hardly blame him: “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Poch Suzara

What's Evil about our Government

What’s evil about our government? The high officials! They seek nothing except wealth, power, and glory for themselves. When they do, however, achieve “success in life,” they only continue to be selfish, greedy, stupid, insecure and socially insane.

What our country needs now is not only love and the greater knowledge about the nature of love, in all its complexity, especially what it really means to love a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Poch Suzara

More On Death

Here’s Bertrand Russell – my intellectual father. Russell wrote about his own death. He inspired in me fearlessly, if not with equanimity, to face my own death one day: “I believe when I die I shall rot, and nothing of my ego will survive. I am not young, and I love life. But I should scorn to shiver with terror at the thought of annihilation. Happiness is nonetheless true happiness because it must come to an end, nor thought and love lose their value because they are not everlasting.” Poch Suzara

Death

I do not know what’s the fuss about death. That it is sudden, extended, lengthened, elongated, stretched, or otherwise surprising. But the day we are born is the day we begin dying. In terms of a thousand years, human life is but a day long. In terms of a hundred thousand years, human life is but an hour long. In terms of a million years long, human life is but a minute long. In terms of a hundred million years, human life is split second, flash in the pan, wink of an eye - long. Will Durant, one of my most admired thinker in the intellectual community, wrote about it with courage and dignity: “And yet, what if it is for life’s sake that we must die? In truth, we are not individuals; and it is because we think ourselves such that death seems unforgivable. We are temporary organs of the race, cells in the body of life; we die and drop away that life may remain young and strong. If we were to live forever, growth would be stifled and youth would find no room on the earth. Death, like style, is the removal of rubbish, the excision of the superfluous.” Poch Suzara

Change Our Society

We may not be able to change our society. We can, however, change the society of a child by preventing its existence. Not by abortion, but simply by prevention. Especially if such a child were going to be born unloved, unwanted, and unneeded by parents who neither have the gumption nor the comprehension to realize that to bring forth children into this world is not a matter of divinity. It is more about replenishing the earth with humans with rights to human dignity. Poch Suzara

College-Educated Women

It is incredible how college-educated women of this country are much more at home with the Communion of saints and sinners than they are conversant with the Communion of thinkers and philosophers. And yet, they feel no need of more lecture or exposure to new knowledge - the rare opportunity to interact with it freely as a matter for intellectual growth and maturity? Poch Suzara

Poverty

You may own the titles to kingdoms of the world. But unless you discover the simple pleasures of learning and the simple joys of understanding through the habit of critical reading and thinking you will only continue to be the mediocre victim of poverty, especially the worse kind: the poverty of the mind. Poch Suzara

Life and Death

How can we know of death if we do not know of life? Now, for the sake of argument, let us assume there is life after death. Where in the universe could such a life be found? Consider our cosmic insignificance: Our entire world is only one planet circling one star in a galaxy that contains about 400 billions planets and stars and is itself only one of the several hundred billion galaxies. After death, how exactly or by what means of locomotion do we travel to any of those worlds to start enjoying eternal salvation; or, for that matter, to be start suffering with eternal damnation?

In the meantime, the bible admits: “The living know that they shall die, but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” Poch Suzara

Conversation With God

God: “I created man and woman with free will and next to the promise of immortal life, free will is my greatest gift to you.” . . . Poch: “Oh God, that’s wonderful. But why did you create Satan also gifted with a free will? Satan even possessed the power to transform himself into a Talking Serpent – more subtil than any beast of the field in your biblical paradise!” Poch Suzara

Impossible With Men

Things impossible with men are possible with God. – Luke 18:27. So, how come it was never impossible with men to have created a God in their own image and likeness? In fact, I never found it impossible to have created for myself not a God, but a Goddess. Poch Suzara

UST and HARVARD

Harvard University already produced more than 48 Nobel Laureates. These are men whose reputation for commitment to humane values and to the pursuit of the truth may be challenged. Nevertheless, Nobel Prize Winners have made authentic contribution to science and to human civilization.
Nobel prizes won by the faculty members of University of San Thomas? None yet. To think UST is older than Harvard by some 50 years. UST, however, has already produced thousands of priests and nuns who, during these past centuries are still preaching to Filipinos to love not this world, neither the things that are in this world! Poch Suzara

Christ's Love

Christ’s love creates unity out of diversity. Phil Star 9/29/2007.
I ask: where is Christ’s love for the unity among Filipinos and for the unity of the Philippine government? To think that no other Asian people, except the Filipinos have always rendered deep faith in Christ since Christianity conquered the Philippines some 500 years ago! Poch Suzara

More On Religious Morons

Religious morons would never, understandably, attempt to think for themselves on life’s greatest question on God and religion. They would rather let other religiously superior morons figure out the theological mess for them. Poch Suzara
