Most people hardly know that the reason they live a life filled with religious fears, it is because they themselves have not read the bible. Instead, like a bunch of mentally-retarded believers, they would rather inspire others to read and interpret the bible for them. The bible is a good book; unfortunately, good for nothing.
Look at what bible messages have done for mankind during these past 2,000 years in the Western world in general, and during the past 400 years in the Philippines in particular? Far from the Age of Critical Analysis, we Filipinos are still living in the Age of Mental Paralysis. Poch Suzara

In Southern California
I lived and worked in Los Angeles, Southern California, for 12 years. 1967 - 1979 There were then some 3 Filipino associations existing. Each trying to bring down the other owing to petty squabbles., if not childish jealousies. When I left after 12 years, there was some 140 different Filipino associations. Today 2008 there are more than 200 different Filipino associations each busy finding faults about the Filipino way of life in the USA. Thus, Filipinos disunited as Filipino-Americans. Nobody wants to be the Indian in such association, especially to pursue its goals and aims. Everybody, however, wants to be the chief. And so, Filipino associations are formed for the simple reason that its Filipino president wants to be famous carrying around with him business cards that read: president. In the meantime, of all the Asian-Americans in the United States, the Filipino-Americans are the most disheveled, disorganized, and full of mutual hatred and envy leading each other to a bridge that goes nowhere. Joys of Life
The joys of life in this world are subject to birth, growth, death, and decay. How utterly silly of God not to protect such joys so that we may together exist forever alongside the existence of our deathless, if not utterly worthless – silly immortal souls. Poch Suzara
Barking idiot
If an idiot barks at you, you only have to bark louder and the idiot backs off. Living in a sick society, sometimes, angry reptilian rudeness is more effective than gentle mammalian politeness. Hello you psuedo-Pinoy psuedo-atheists – you gang of sick idiots! You people are only good at barking. Poch Suzara
God is like Dust Existing Everywhere
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust", a phrase in Christian burial service, used sometimes to denote the total finality of the corporeal body, thereby contrasting the temporary nature of worldly existence to the eternity of the spirit. It is based on scriptural texts such as "Dust thou art, and unto dust thou shalt return" (Genesis 3:19), and "I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee" (Ezekiel 28:18)
Well, If dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return, and if God created thou in his own image and likeness, then God must be made of dust too. No wonder dust is like God. It is existing here, there, and everywhere. Poch Suzara Twitter@ Facebook# Google#
God Lied
In the Old Testament, after God created the world and everything in it, he said: “it was good.” In the New Testament, however, God said: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not with him.” John 2:15. In the Old Testament, God lied. Poch Suzara
St. Augustine and Free Will
“When, therefore, man lives according to man, not according to God, he is like the devil,” wrote St. Augustine. An individual, according to St. Augustine, has little power to influence his or her predetermined fate and is entirely dependent upon God for salvation. So, I ask St. Augustine: what is the use of the free will as a gift from God? Poch Suzara
The Bible
The bible repeatedly exhorts readers to fear God: “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” “Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord.” “Fear Him, which after he hath power to cast into hell; yea. I say unto you, Fear Him.” Indeed, the bible even encourages the frightened readers to fear the bible itself. Thus, the majority of the religious believers are not really that familiar with the contradictions, absurdities, inconsistencies, and obscenities that run through the bible from cover to cover. In fact, only the few are conversant with the fact that there are about 450 different and conflicting versions of the bible sold in the market today. Poch Suzara
A Great Dream
I had this great dream the other night. I ardently hope it will become a reality one day. Thousands of my Jesus freak classmates and schoolmates in La Salle received this text message saying: “Poch Suzara died yesterday and was cremated today. With his last breath, he cried out: Screw you religious morons who with your silly Son of God Jesus made a silly religious mockery out of my beautiful country.” Poch Suzara
Allan Greenspan
Alan Greenspan was, for a great many years, a true believer in the god of market fundamentalism. The great man that he is, he recently admitted publicly, that he was wrong. The former Federal Reserve chairman, said that the current financial crisis had uncovered a flaw in how the free market capitalism works that shocked him.
He told the House Oversight Committee that his belief that banks would be more prudent in their lending practices because of the need to protect their stockholders had proved to be wrong.
This is like admitting that the Ayn Rand philosophy for the selfish, greedy, stupid, and insane works but works only for those who are precisely greedy, selfish, stupid, and insane.
He admitted that he had made a “mistake” in believing that banks operating in their self-interest would be enough to protect their shareholders and the equity in their institutions.
He said that he had found “a flaw in the model that I perceived is the critical functioning structure that defines how the world works.”
He headed the nation’s central bank for 18.5 years, said that he and others who believed lending institutions would do a good job of protecting their shareholders are in a “state of shocked disbelief.”
Bertrand Russell wrote: “No, the greatest men have not been “serene.” They have had, it is true, an ultimate courage, a power of creating beauty where nature has put only horror, which may, to a petty mind, appear like serenity. But their courage has had to surpass that of common men, because they have seen deeper into the indifference of nature and the cruelty of man. To cover up these things with comfortable lies is the business of cowards; the business of great men is to see them with inflexible clarity, and yet to think and feel nobly. And in the degree in which we can all be great, this is the business of each one of us.”
In this 21st century, Allan Greenspan is one such great man in the world today. He will yet change the filthy ways of filthy Americans who became filthy rich in the filthy way. Poch Suzara

Capitalism Depends on Greed
Free market capitalism is based on greed. That's the engine that makes it work. The entire basis of capitalism is that everyone acts in his or on her own self-interest, to try to get as much as he or she possibly can. It is what's supposed to keep the players constructive competing against each other. Wrong and it has, in fact, proved to be destructive than most shallow-minded economists acknowledged.
Free market capitalism has many failings. The most obvious is the tendency of wealth to concentrate more and more into fewer and fewer greedy hands over time. Another is that gullibility and lack of education that allow the millions of people to be victimized by others. Also, there's the unspoken collusion that allows, for example, corporations to jack up prices, ensuring higher profits for itself. Greed is not the failure of capitalism. It is the success of it.
Now if we truly believe that all men are all created equal, and that there must be justice for all, there ought to be a law that says no individual should be worth more than ten million dollars in cash and assets; and no corporation can be worth more than one billion dollars in cash and in assets. Except for the Research institutes that are in the business to find cures for human and animal diseases. They can be worth one hundred billion dollars. Thus, the hundreds of trillions of dollars combined owned by the few individuals, corporations, and churches ought to be dismantled and distributed to billions of people according to the new law that I am proposing.
The historical business that we can continue to hate and kill each other in order to feed the few greedy and to hell with the millions of the needy has been rendered obsolete if we were to live in peace and harmony on this earth in the centuries to come.
It is time to explore not only the deeper nature of the world, but also, especially, to discover higher the world of nature. Poch Suzara

Illusions and Delusions
Studying theology during my younger years was not so much as to know God, but to find out more about how the ignorant theologians managed to become experts in the business of promising to deliver illusions and delusions in order to support and maintain our sick society.
Just exactly like the ignorant politicians in the government. They are also experts in the business of promising to deliver illusions and delusions for everybody. Indeed, in this world, if we were ruled by lies and deceptions, we only have to thank the ignorant theologians always in cahoots with the ignorant politicians in the business of telling lies and deceptions for their own benefit, if not profit. Catholicism
Catholicism is not a way of life; but a way of death. It has been and still is big business for the priesthood industry. It’s wealth, power, and glory, not to mention the Vatican bank worth in the trillion of dollars are proof enough that Catholicism has always been big business in God’s name on earth as it is in heaven. So What
So what if Darkness is the absence of light. My point as an atheist is that God himself was a not a bright being as he did not illuminate anything around him. He obviously existed in total darkness. If God was a brilliant light unto himself, he need not have created the sun to light up the darkness around Him. Poch Suzara
Truth
The truth hurts? No, it does not. It never did. In fact, the truth must first be discovered and then revealed before it can hurt any one. What, in fact, has been hurting during these past many great centuries has been the Revealed Truth. It has never been revealed. Poch Suzara
Bertrand Russell
In 1912, at the beginning of his book PROBLEMS OF PHILOSOPHY, Russell asked: “Is there any knowledge in the world which is so certain that no reasonable man could doubt it?” In 1948 on the last page of his HUMAN KNOWLEDGE book, he came to the conclusion that “all human knowledge is uncertain, inexact, and partial.” Indeed, to criticize Russell’s philosophical works is an exercise in futility. For, it is doubtful whether Russell has made any great mistake, and where he has been wrong, he has spoilt the fun of future generation of philosophers by pointing out the errors himself. The Bible
The bible may be holy, but it is filled with inconsistent baloney. There is neither harmony nor uniformity as the authors contradict each other. The Gospel of Matthew tells us that Jesus was an aristocrat descended from David via Solomon. The Gospel of Luke, however, tells us that Jesus was from much more humble stock. The Gospel of Mark says that Jesus was born to a poor carpenter.
At his birth, Jesus was visited by kings according to Matthew, but according to Luke, he was visited by shepherds.
At his death, Jesus, according to the Gospel of Mark and Matthew tell us that his last words were “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” But according to Luke, Jesus said, “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit,” and in John Jesus simply said, “It is finished.”
In his great book, the Age of Reason, by Tom Paine, one of the greatest among the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, wrote: “Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of a demon, than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness, that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part, I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel.”
As a bible reader myself during these past twenty years, I am quite conversant with bible messages. They have more to do not with the way of life, but the way towards death. Sadly and unfortunately, even the bible admits that “The dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” Eccl. 9:5
Again, I say to one and all: please read your bible. It is where we can all duly discover the foundation of why we are, precisely, the Sick Man of Asia. Poch Suzara

The Holocaust
A few days ago I forwarded by email to hundreds of friends and relatives pictures showing the horrors of what the Nazis under Hitler (the Holocaust) did to the Jews in Germany during World War 2. The horrors of it all – man’s inhumanity to man. What many of you do not know, however, is that Hitler was raised and educated as a Catholic in Austria. He hated the Jews. In His book MEIN KAMPF, Hitler wrote on page 65: “Hence today I believe I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jews, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” During that war, the buckle belt worn around the waist by Hitler’s army read: “ Gott Mit Uns.” God with us. It is incredible how Pope Pius the 12th then with God's power never lifted a finger to stop Hitler from gassing the Jews to death. Estimated at 6,000,000 of them. The Pope could have excommunicated Hitler. On the contrary, the Catholic hierarchy loved what was being done to the Christ’s killers – the Jews. Today Pope Benedict the 16th Ratzinger wants Nazi sympathizing Pope Pius the 12th to be named as a good saint. Unfortunately, a good for nothing saint as all saints are – good for nothing. Is a Fetus a Person
Is a fetus a person? A person, however, is one who has free will. A fetus has no free will. When we were once ourselves a fetus in mom’s womb, did we have the free will to choose whether we wanted to be born as a boy person or a girl person in this world?
But then again if a fetus were a person, how come when a miscarriage happens, nobody in the priesthood industry gives the fetus the sacrament of Extreme Unction; or attends to its funeral service? Are the souls of the fetus remembered during All Saints's Day?
Now I am told that a fetus nevertheless has the potential to be a thinking person with a free will? What about the would-be mother and would-be father of a fetus? Are they thinking persons while they are mating? But for a man to penetrate a woman’s sexual organ, all the blood in his brain must travel down to his sexual organ in order to get an erection. Solidified blood as it were. The same chemistry happens with the woman. Sexual arousal makes all the blood in her brain travel down to her reproductive system and she also, exactly like her man, becomes utterly brainless while in the act of propagating the human species. Never mind the ridiculous physical contortions that a man and his woman must assume for the sake of starting a family.
It is illegal to kill a group of cells called a fetus inside the womb. It is called “abortion.” It is, however, legal to let them be born, let them grow up a bit, and then kill them with malnutrition. In the meantime, politicians, doctors, priests, and indeed husbands all have the right and the free will to have sex with a woman; but she, however, has neither the right nor the free will to practice family planning and birth control? What despicable nonsense is this? As a matter of biological fact, men are the ones fertile every minute of the month. The women are fertile only two or 3 days of the month. It should therefore be the men, not the women, who should be more involved with the responsibility of family planning and birth control in our already sick and overpopulated society. Overpopulation means that the number of people in a given society surpasses the economic basis for providing them with adequate food, housing, meaningful education, and harmless entertainment.
We already have more than 10 million persons called children living under subhuman conditions in the streets of our major cities? In the meantime, three ( 3 ) babies are born every minute in the Philippines. That transforms into 1,500,000 babies born every year. Many of them abandoned by their father and neglected by their mother. The Roman scholar Pliny, the Elder, said: “What we do to our children, they will do to society.” Well, in this 21st century, take a good look at our sick and corrupt society!
If God himself practiced family planning and birth control measures, why is there so much religious pressure for Filipinos to emulate God who only had one son with Mary?
Instead of being childish as a people frightened of morality, why don’t we grow up as a nation and begin to discover morality? This business of paraphrasing the bible: “Forgive me, Father, for I know not what I am doing” – can only be the confession of a man born ignorant, not stupid; but made stupid by indoctrination!
If centuries past were to be identified by their dominant characteristics, like the Age of Reason or the Age of Enlightenment, how come in this 21st century Philippines, ours is still the Age of Fear and Guilt? Poch Suzara

A Thought from a Thinking American
We hate to win wars. The more wars ongoing here, spreading there, and developing anywhere – the better for our industrial economy. In fact, the spread of terrorism, ( it used to be called communism ) the better for American capitalism. The exception of course is Chinese communism. China has introduced to the world a better economic system that works without violence and war – the merger of capitalism with communism. Unlike American capitalism the way we make wealth and the way we make war are profitably related and inextricably connected. In the meantime, we continue to ask our soldiers ( our very own sons and daughters ) to be shot at and for many to be killed. To have the courage to die in battle, but not to have the courage to question the insane policies of our government of the industrialists, by the militarists, and for the elitists.
The historical scandal in America is not what is immoral or illegal; but what is moral and legal. Super financial fortunes in America have been built not on “free enterprise” but on the infectious greed of crony capitalism. In this connection, in America, by and large, there is hardly such a thing as “national interests.” There is only the - “corporate interests.” In the meantime, how can there be Americans in the great cities of America who are hungry, homeless, and living under stress not knowing where the next meal will come from to feed their children and still pay their rent?
It is time for a radical change. It is time to retool our industrial capacity from war economy to peace economy. It is time to focus on the whole of humanity, especially at human poverty. War as a way to enrich the few and to keep ourselves strong with our “Industrial-Military-University-Complex” superpower of the world has become obsolete. Through the increasing power of knowledge, it is time to manufacture more engines for construction rather than engines of destruction. Defense spending creates jobs only for the military but not for society. It does not even buy national security. Military spending causes unemployment, inflation, and resource depletion, not to mention the accumulation of sophisticated military weapons that grow to such a complexity that approach national insanity. Indeed, if the lethal capacity of the nuclear arsenals of America and its allies were broken down into tons of TNT, each man, woman, and child alive in the world today would be represented by something like 4 tons of explosive power. Some of our individual H-Bombs represent so much destructive power that they each total more tons of dynamite power than all the bombs dropped by all sides during World War Two. There are, however, only two things that can be done with military weapons – use it for destruction; or, store them until they become obsolete and then eventually scrapped while American school buildings and the images of America as the land of the free and home of the brave are rotting away.
The party is over. It is time to clean up the mess. The days of military lies and deceptions are over. It is time to achieve success not as Republicans or Democrats or Westerners or Southerners or Easterners or Asians, Latinos, or African Americans, but simply as - united Americans. It is time for America to be a genuine super power. A super power that has no demons to kill, or villains to destroy. Indeed, it is time for America to have more real friends around the world by having no more enemies. If we must fight enemies, let us fight them not on the battlefield, but with the power of ideas. Love is always better than hate because in love there is peace and unity. In hate, there is only disharmony. Our national interests should be wholly in harmony with those of humanity.
The Media is no longer our media. It is no longer the media that promotes the power of knowledge. The US government in cahoots with the Industrial-Military-University Complex now owns and controls the media. The media like the advertising industry does not persuade. They manipulate. Look how the media succeeds in reducing American citizens to idiots. Watching TV five hours a day can only be the way of life of idiots. From corporate advertisers to political punditry, from boards of education to the entertainment programmers, their goal is to keep us American citizens thoughtless, if not frightened. Forget freedom of the press. It belongs to him who owns one. Indeed, we have yet to pierce through the untruths being cast by the mainstream media that benefits not the nation, but only the corrupt corporations. What is the use of the freedom of expression to people who have been frightened of the future? So that they may only prefer the comforts of political lies or prefer the promises of religious deceits from the powers-that-be?
Our problems, in fact, the world’s problems, are no longer local. It is global. Everything in this world is interrelated with everything else in a delicate balance and complex web of interrelationship. We are all -- each and every one of us, actors and spectators in the drama of life on this small blue planet whose continued existence is in doubt.
We are often told that America has the best system of education in the world. Well, it is time to prove it. Let us install educated American leaders to run our government. A government that puts greater value on higher education above everything else. Education that explores deeper the world of nature and discovers higher the nature of our world. It is incredible how the “educated” US Congressmen would entertain the impeachment of a US president on matters of sexual behavior, but would not impeach him for endangering the lives of American children by welfare reform, or by neglecting its senior citizens, or for violating international law in bombing foreign countries, or for allowing hundreds of thousands of children to die as a result of economic sanctions. In the meantime, poverty, disease, illiteracy, and overpopulation in the world cannot be redressed until America and her allies re-direct its resources toward constructive humanitarian aims. It is time to beat swords into plowshares.
In his great book THE THIRD WAVE published in 1980, author Alvin Toffler concluded:
“The responsibility for change, therefore, lies with us. We must begin with ourselves, teaching ourselves not to close our minds prematurely to the novel, the surprising, the seemingly radical. This means fighting off the idea-assassins who rush forward to kill any new suggestion on grounds of its impracticality, while defending whatever now exists as practical, no matter how absurd, oppressive, or unworkable it may be. It means fighting for freedom of expression – the right of people to voice their ideas, even if heretical.
Above all, it means starting this process of reconstruction now, before further disintegration of existing political systems sends the forces of tyranny jackbooting through the streets, and makes impossible a peaceful transition in the twenty-first century Democracy.
If we begin now, we and our children can take part in the exciting reconstitution not merely of our obsolete political structures, but of civilization itself. Like the generation of the revolutionary dead, we have a destiny to create.”
