The History of the USA
Most Americans do not know that Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah use to be part of Mexico. During the Mexican-American war, we murdered Mexicans on their own soil and grabbed their land away from them to widen US territories. Indeed, we were neither happy nor contented with the land we grabbed away from the American Indians. We needed parts of Mexico too. Trouble is, most Americans are only familiar, if at all, with conservative history written by conservative American historians. Thereby depriving themselves of the real history of the United States and its people. Well, understandably, most Americans feel more at home with conservatism. Bertrand Russell said it: “None of the higher mental processes are required for conservatism.” In the meantime, poverty among Mexican people today is sad and pathetic. But if you refuse to see it from historical context, you will never appreciate the thought that the truth is always beautiful; but historical lies are always despicable.
