How could we Filipinos ever mature as a people and develop as a nation when we have been taught to believe that there is a better country to go to after birth, and that there is a better world to come after death? Indeed, what can be expected of a people enjoying only the freedom of Christianity, by Christianity, and for Christianity? Poch Suzara

Worse still, Filipinos attempt to find happiness, validation and self-identity through superstitious rituals forced upon them by their brutal European conquerors. Not the best away to arrive at a positive and lasting sense of self worth.
