Why Oh Why We Remain Famous as the Sick Man of Asia
My dear Fellow-Filipinos,
Our barangay captains, mayors, governors, congressmen, senators, and indeed, President and Vice-president of our Republic are, no doubt, the leaders of our country. Unfortunately, also leaders of the Sick Man of Asia. And to think that our Filipino leaders all share something wonderful in common together: they are all Maka-Dios as faithful Catholics in the Philippines.
What evidences have I to make such a fantastic claim? I have tons of them. Please read daily our major newspapers, such as Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin, etc. There, reported and published daily, are the evidences in this already 21st century - just how sick and aimless we are as a people; and, just how sick and rudderless we are as a nation. Especially for the glory of a non-Catholic Jewish Son of God Jesus in heaven as he is in the Philippines!

comment NY, 08 May 2013 Poch: Just keep it going. Never falter. Don't lose steam. You are performing something not only useful but very valuable. Who knows? Some Filipinos, in particular those who are in positions of influence, may get to read your stream of invectives against the Corrupt and the Gullible and start a process of change that will be good for the country. Poch, you are so worked up about the dismal state of politics in the Philippines. I understand why. But if the God of the Bible does not exist, you lose all principled moral complaint about what corrupt politicians did and continue to do to their hapless countrymen. In a godless universe, what one "animal" does to other "animals" is ethically irrelevant. There is no basis for indignation or outrage. What happens, happens: period. We are left with your feelings and desires versus the feelings and desires of a Sotto, an Estrada, a Binay, or ______ (fill in the blank) - with neither having any more "right" than the others. Indeed, as a staunch liberal supporter of personal freedom, you should, in terms of the atheist worldview, defend the freedom of these aspiring leaders to do as they desire!
Dear Ken, Thank you for admitting that our system of education has been and still is worthless in Asia today. Indeed, our schools, colleges, and universities are mostly owned, controlled, and operated by the Catholic church. It is easy to grasp why we Filipinos only know how to love God up there by hating each other down here. We do not even love our country down here. We only know how to love a divine mystery up and out there. Cheers! Poch Suzara
