Nobody Wants to Die

Everybody wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die to get there. As a matter of fact, nobody wants to die because to begin with, nobody knows where heaven is located; or, by what means of transportation do we embark on in order to get to heaven! In the meantime, since not wanting to die is also a sin against God, we shall surely end down in hell. Well, as an atheist, since I do not care to go to heaven, I am told that I will end down deeper in hell for having accomplished a bigger sin against God for not wanting to go to heaven. But then again, where is HELL located? How come the existence of HELL is not even mentioned in the Bible? Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

True Christians are not afraid of death and dying. But they also believe in the sanctity of life and they want to serve God this side of heaven as long as they can. It's ironic that those who believe that this is all there is to life, that there is no afterlife, are the ones who tend to hasten death. Abortionists, advocates of euthanasia, Communist tyrants, etc.

Poch, you're doing yourself a disservice by assuming the wrong reasons for going to hell. At least get it right. Who told you such ridiculous lies? And don't worry, Poch, God does not force anyone to go to heaven. But then, if you end up in hell, you won't be able to blame God either.

Ken, please stop trying to imitate my grade school and high school La Salle teachers. They were the ones who taught me to believe in a lot of spiritual garbage via living a life of fear - fear of God, fear of the unknown, and how to dear death. What a lot of crappy fear! Poch

Poch, with all due respect, you are much older than me. I’ve never met your teachers. They may have been long dead. They belong to a different generation, a bygone era. As Roman Catholics, they probably used the apologetics of a Thomas Aquinas. I am not a Catholic. So how could I have imitated them? I fear God with delight as a child fears his loving father. I am not afraid of death or the future. Christ has conquered death, and he holds the future in his hands. I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to spend eternity in hell.

Ken, I would rather be in hell with great men and great women of this world than to be heaven with little jerks and the lilliputian saps of this world.`Poch Suzara

Ken, what people do with their own bodies is none of your business.

I know that Christian dogma teaches that all people outside of Jesus Christ are evil and depraved and therefore headed for hell. But please don't shove your beliefs into other people's minds and hearts, especially to atheists.

Let me share a quote from a former evangelical pastor turned atheist, Dan Barker on the issue of love.

The claim that I am an atheist because I don't understand "love" is particularly ironic. I do not understand what love is, and that is one of the reasons why I can never again be a Christian. Love is not self-denial. Love is not blood and suffering. Love is not murdering your son to appease your own vanity. Love is not hatred or wrath, consigning billions of people to eternal torture because they have disobeyed your rules.
Love is not obedience, conformity or submission. It is counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being. -- Godless (DAN BARKER)

And I think this is what Mr. Poch Suzara meant when referring to the spiritual garbage which produces fear.

Happy New Year Bro!

Jekongz, I believe you were referring to my view regarding abortion and euthanasia. If people as you say should not interfere with what people do with their bodies, why then is it ok for abortionists to dispose of the bodies of millions of preborn babies? Why should we have death panels to decide who should get euthanized? Think also of the millions of lives interrupted by atheistic communist regimes.

Like Dan, I think you're barking at the wrong tree.

Jekongz, in his autobiography, Dan Barker admitted that he kept on preaching as a pastor and evangelist for a year or so after he became a convinced atheist. Should I believe him then, and why should I believe him now?

Jekongz, regarding true love, you and I know that compassion and kindness are its expressions, but given your atheism, how can you know true love? Barker’s blurb regarding true love is a nice sentiment, but love, compassion and the golden rule only make sense in a Christian world view. We are all made in God’s image, and thus should treat one another with respect and dignity. But if we are just evolved chemicals, why should we care about others? Why not hurt people if it improves our chances of survival in this dog-eat-dog world?
