Noise as a Torture To All Intellectual People
I have long held the opinion that the amount of noise that anyone can bear undisturbed stands in inverse proportion to his mental capacity and may therefore be regarded as a pretty fair measure of it... Noise is a torture to all intellectual people... The superabundant display of vitality which takes the form of knocking, hammering, and tumbling things about, has proved a daily torment to me all my daily life... Arthur Schopenhauer.
We poor Filipinos love noise; specially noise to celebrate New year's eve celebration. We waste billions of pesos exploding firecrackers around us to make lots of meaningless noises. Indeed, we are not intelligent as a people. We have no mental capacity to feel disturbed or tortured by exploding noises... Poch Suzara Twitter# Facebook# Google#

I agree with you, Poch. People should not burn hard earned money in ushering in the new year. But that is nothing compared to being burned to a crisp in fiery hell.
Ken, I don't know about you, but I am never bothered by the concept of hell. To begin with, we do not know what mode of transportation do we embark on to go to hell; and second, nobody knows where hell is located out there. Poch Suzara
