A Whole Person

My teachers at De La Salle University impressed upon me when I was a grade school student that I was half animal and half man. When I became an atheist, however, I deeply felt the joys of being a whole person. Indeed, I became an atheist when I realized how silly of God to have made me half man and half animal in his own image and likeness. Poch Suzara

Homo sapiens sapiens is an animal. There are humans and there are chimps, but the genomic difference between the two is pretty small. I really don't understand why some believers are so put off by the fact that through and through we're part of the animal kingdom, part of mother nature. Too bad, because they just can't deny the empirical evidence.
