Great Scientific Discoveries

“Great scientific discoveries,” wrote E.O. Wilson, “are like sunrises. First they touch just the tips of a few peaks and steeples; then they illuminate the world.” I entirely agree. I must say, however, that if a few scientific discoveries have fallen into the hands of corrupt politicians in cahoots with corrupt businessmen, what the world nevertheless would need is not less, but more scientific discoveries. Indeed, thanks to the power of science, we are starting to shift our confidence from the power of divinity to the power of human technology. Poch Suzara
