Most People Hate to Think
“Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think; and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.” ― Thomas A. Edison --- In the Philippines, as the only Catholic country in Asia, 99 per cent of the people love to pray as they hate to think. After all, under our sick system of education, we are taught to believe that life after death is better than life after birth so that there is no need to think to save our precious minds and hearts; there is only the need to pray to save our sick and frightned souls... Not good enough, Poch. You need to be born again.
Poch, you fancy yourself as a deep thinker. What do you use to think? As a materialist, you can't say "the mind." You must say that you think with your brain which is the product of mindless chance and time. That being the case, can you really trust your thoughts? Blessings! Ken Sidadayaw
Ken, instead of being born again, why not just grow up first. Surely, as a man of self-respect and dignity, before I should trust the thoughts of others, I should first trust my own thoughts. In this way, whatever my mistakes will be my mistakes and not the mistakes of other that like a fool I have been following or obeying. Cheers! Poch
Poch, so you admit you don't know everything and that you may be mistaken. Yet you have assumed a universal negative, "There is no God." If a person does not begin with God, the faculties necessary to explain anything cannot be made sense of, and there is no hope explaining how the world works, or how we live, move and breath. The proof that God exists, is that without Him, you couldn't know anything. Blessings! Ken Sidadayaw
