The Catholic Popes

If peace on earth and goodwill to all men prevailed, the newly elected 265th pope benedict XVI of the Catholic Church need not pledge to work to unify Christians, to reach out to other religions. One wonders what the Catholic Popes have accomplished for the happiness of mankind in the here and now? Consider the world in this 21st century still hopelessly split into areas of wealth and poverty where ignorance, hatred, bigotry, and faith in ancient superstitions are still pretty much the traditional enemies of mankind.
