Misery and Democracy

Christianity has survived during these past centuries because it insured for herself what precisely it feeds on – human misery. Indeed, Christianity has always had a vested interest in human misery. Of course, it is not called misery. It is more popularly known as “sacrifice.” Nevertheless, misery is best defined as a state of chronic suffering and unhappiness. Christianity has even made a mockery of our democracy by seeing to it that we Filipinos continue to be under a theocracy and therefore, in the here and now, to live in misery and indeed, in poverty both spiritually and morally. And the most effective way to maintain these horrors is to see to it that there is no such thing as government education sponsoring family planning and birth control measures practice in our democracy as blessed by Catholic theocracy.
