God’s First Command

“Thou shall have no other gods before me.” Wow, where did those other gods come from? Who created them? If God did not believe in the existence of other gods, was God an atheist too? Poch Suzara

You really need to open your Bible more, man! In the context that God said, "You shall have no other gods before me", God was giving the ten commandments to Moses on mount Sinai. In those times, the people of Israel were constantly accosted by pagan cultures that mocked and ridiculed the true God. In fact, the SECOND Moses descended from Mount Sinai, the Jews had gotten bored enough to create a pagan idol! The Jews had to be reminded that the false gods of the desert were made up by evil men. Moses tore down the idol and the Jews were severely reprimanded.

You see, "other" gods can only come from one place- us. All false religions are human constructs, while the true God is eternal.

This is the internet, man. Use your brain for a second. Even if I did identify myself, there's no way you'd ever find me. What am I going to say, "My name is John Doe"? I couldn't directly communicate with you if I wanted! I'm not gonna get on a plane and go to your house to drink coffee and discuss God, I have no idea where you live either. I could call YOU a coward for not posting your address online! Besides, there's no reason to give you my name, address, phone number, etc. I'm here to make a point. I'm not here to give out useless personal information.

And, just like before, this is all a distraction. You're avoiding the real point- your misinterpretation of scripture. Keep swearing, too-it just makes you appear less credible.

In fact, you've avoided my question altogether! I was convinced you were an asinine teenager, but I saw a picture of you on Google- you look 60!

What a surprise...
