When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said, 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land. Archbishop Desmond Tutu If I may add, the same thing happened in the Philippines when Christianity arrived during the 16th century. Except that today in this already 21st century, we only have the Christian bible, while our land, our schools, colleges, universities, not to mention our government, our media, including our souls, indeed, our very own existence belong to God up there while we Filipinos are supposed to hate each other down here!
