My Dear Jaime Calero

Jaime Calero, c/o De La Salle University Taft Ave., Manila Dear Mr. Jaime Calero, A history of culture, conceived in its widest sense, includes religion, politics, art, philosophy, science and technology. Ours is a failed culture because we have far more politics always in cahoots with religion together as a people than we do have art, philosophy, science, and technology as a nation. If this history of culture were too complicated for you to grasp, please allow me, as a high-school expelled student, to simplify the academic complexity for you: A nation that produces 3 babies every minute of the day and night or 1.5 million babies yearly is a nation that enjoys the culture of FUCKING, not the culture of THINKING. Ours, indeed, is a mindless culture. Protected and defended by the Thoughtless. We have no hope in science; especially as it is about the perfection of humanity. We only have faith in religion - the belief that rather than work for perfection we must only seek in this world obliteration via mutilation, if not by self-destruction. What is cultural in our country is not about the growth or development of the Philippines as a decent nation. What is cultural is the code of sexual behavior that would guarantee precisely the survival of Christianity in our country. The Christian priesthood industry left no stone unturned in their determination to convert the Pinay's female uterus into a baby factory to produce on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis - Christian babies. JAIME, I asked it before, I ask it again: how can we be a nation of readers, writers, reporters, explorers, researchers, discoverers, manufacturers, traders, importers, exporters, managers, workers, farmers, growers, planters, poultry-raisers, painters, carpenters, welders, plumbers, domestic-helpers, TV producers, movie directors, forest-rangers, law-enforcers, judges and lawyers, professors, and teachers - since, to begin with, in our schools, colleges, and universities - we are educated first and foremost to rely and to believe only on the power of stupid prayers? In the meantime, churches and cathedrals, shrines and crucifixes, and indeed, revealed truths in the holy bible that have yet to be revealed have all played crucial roles in molding the Filipino minds and hearts to be famous as the Sick Man of Asia. Jaime, for my part, as an atheist and a student of books since I was 14 years old, I have learned to live a life without fear of this or fear of that. In fact, I thank God that I have learned to become an atheist. After all, God himself is an atheist. God has no religion. God does not lead himself into temptation; nor does He pray to Mary, His mother, to always pray for Him. Cheers! Poch Suzara San Lorenzo Village, Makati city, Philippines
