Poverty of the Worst Kind in the Philippines

Dear Mar Patalinjug, You are 100 per cent right on target... Out of the 100 million population of the Philippines, 30 million Filipinos are caught in the sticky quagmire of poverty, living lives of extreme degradation and dehumanization... Mar, may I, however, point out that the rest of the population in our country suffer from poverty of even the worst kind - the poverty of the mind and heart... Such horrors have always kept us Filipinos poor spiritually as a people and mentally retarded historically as a nation!!! I have asked it before, I ask it again: Have we ever heard of a Filipino who got to be FILTHY RICH for believing that God is BAD??? So how come millions upon millions of Filipinos are FILTHY POOR and yet they all believe that God is GOOD! I can only repeat - the worst kind of poverty is the poverty of the mind and heart...
