Dear Landa A. bautista

THE LEARNING CENTER, INC. (TLC)

Dear Landa Bautista,

We can never move the Philippine situation forward unless we first remove its corrupt system of education. The belief that there is a better foreign country to go to after birth, or that there is a better world to go to after death is a silly belief taught in our schools, colleges, and universities that keep the Filipino spiritually twisted as a people and morally distorted as a nation. With all good wishes, Poch Suzara, Chairman, High School Dropout Assn of the Philippines

I fear you make the mistake of looking like a fringe *no* character. think of american republicans of today. they say no but offer no alternatives. what's your alternative to human spirituality? men like obama and pacquiao will always convince people that being a person of faith is not always such a bad thing if taken in moderation.

Do you really believe that Obama got to be president of the USA because of faith; or Pacquiao got to be a world boxing champion because of faith? A man of faith is like a drunkard who clings to a lamppost for support, not illumination.

It is ridiculous to see Obama as president of the USA, or Pacquiao as world boxing champion as either men of faith?

My alternative to human spirituality is not to be stuck in faith but to question everything. Indeed, questions are always better than the answers because the answers in time become obsolete. Poch Suzara

I didn't mean to imply that obama and pacquiao got to top of their respective careers by being men of faith. i'm a skeptic first of all that agrees with you almost 99% of the time. but i agree with sam harris. we who live our lives *without* theism have fallen into a trap. i can't help but think that we're mostly viewed as a cranky subculture when we go on the offense by calling a christian or muslim *drunkards*.

How do think Columbus was treated when he insisted that the world is round while millions of morons declared that the world is flat?
Atheism is not being trapped, on the contrary, atheism paves the way out of a religious quagmire that does more harm than good.
The fools says there is no God. We, the atheists, say it to the whole wide world. Poch Suzara

i wouldn't know how Columbus felt but what I do know is that having images sent back by astronauts and satellites proving once for all the world is round is the final nail in the coffin *proof*. ignorance didn't magically disappear after the 14th century so your example doesn't prove anything. you're advocating atheism which is an empty philosophy. your brilliance is not driven by your atheism in my opinion.

No, my friend, I am advocating the right to think not only judiciously, but also openly, publicly, and freely.

I am also offering back to you something quite so priceless stolen away from you when you were a little boy in school - your own precious mind. Best wishes and cheers! Poch

Dear Landa,

You might as well also banned public inquiry of your school as the power to question everything which is the only basis of spirituality obviously does not exist in your school. Indeed, only more of the same? Education should be about wanting to know, not wanting to believe. After all, questions are far more important than the answers because the answers in time become obsolete. Poch Suzara

Dear Mr. Suzara,

Thank you for your response. Please do not mistake my intent. I only ask that you strike my school's name out of the entry because the message I forwarded before, to which you commented, had nothing to do with it and had all to do with my opinions as an advocate for Philippine progress.

The Learning Center, Inc., is a non-stock, non-profit foundation for children, adolescents and adults with special needs such as autism, Down Syndrome, mental retardation, and other developmental and behavioral conditions. We are non-sectarian.

Thank you.

Dear Ms Landa A. bautista,
3 babies are born every single minute in the Philippines. That's comes to about 1.8 babies a year, Most of then unwanted, unloved, and unneeded as they live under subhuman conditions which we do not care as we have been told that God will always provide. Now those who survive naturally suffer from all kinds of mental problems - which I am always writing about. Now why do you believe that I should hide the great work you are doing with children as they are the victims of our so-called social and religious values?
Cheers,

Poch

Please do not misinterpret what I am requesting. At any rate, it seems my sincere appeal is unheeded.

Thank you, nevertheless.
