We are not a Nation of Readers
No, we are NOT a nation of readers. We are a nation of prayers. In fact, there are college-educated men and women on these pages - who have not ceased praying for me, a high school expelled student, to stop writing - specially about Bertrand Russell. The same Bertrand Russell – who saved not my silly soul, but saved instead my precious mind.
Russell wrote: “We are all born ignorant, not stupid. We are made stupid by education.” Indeed, the same Bertrand Russell who also wrote some 100 years ago - "Education must foster the development of freedom of action and thought.
This is the ultimate purpose of teaching and learning. Only a free human being can be a skeptical one; conversely, only a skeptical person can ultimately achieve genuine freedom." Any one of you out there believe that such words from Bertrand Russell can one day become obsolete - you got to be well-established in the ways of what precisely is keeping the Philippines - poor spiritually, bankrupt morally, insane politically, sick socially, retarded culturally, and childish religiously - as a nation.
I REST MY CASE. Poch Suzara
