I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain. . . James A. Baldwin . . . Oh my dear Baldwin, you are right on target. . . for my part, I'd rather endlessly hate the lies and deceptions; hate the illusions and delusions; hate injustices, poverty, and political corruption; not to mention I also love to hate social insanity than be forced to deal with pain once again by being not the master, but the stupid victim of religion as a frightened Catholic that I once was as a boy in school.
