I am often told that Without God, life has no meaning. Of course, without God, life has no meaning. After all, who is going to forgive our meaningful sins and forgive our meaningful crimes if not God or His Son Jesus? They are always bragging that they are "MAKA-dios, and that they are also all MAKA-Jesus in this only Catholic country in Asia. I say, there is no reason to believe that life needs to be eternal in order to be meaningful. Indeed, there is evidence that quite the opposite in the case: for example, a film, a performance, a novel or a sporting event without end would completely lose any meaning. In the same way, we can question what would be the point of doing anything at all if we had an eternity to live, with nothing to bring it into focus and give it some urgency and poignancy. So There Is A God, So What?

So there is a God! So what? Why is such a God only always OMNI-ABSENT, never OMNI-PRESENT? I'd like to meet God face to face in the here and now. I'd like to tell God to his face that he has been a LOUSY God; specially to us millions of filthy poor and sick Filipinos and the few filthy-rich Filipinos who are among the biggest saps and jerks in the Philippines - the only Catholic country in Asia since the 16th century!

Success in Life

We are all born ignorant, not sick or corrupt. We are made sick and corrupt via a sick and corrupt system of education in the Philippines. If we wish to know why we, as a people, are filthy, messy, and sick even as a nation - take a closer look at our sick and corrupt system of education; especially as operated by the power of authority of Catholicism in the Philippines - the only Catholic country in Asia since the 16th century.

 In the meantime, millions of college educated Filipinos believe they are poor because they have no money. On the contrary, the worse kind of poverty is the poverty of the mind. Among those who are truly rich are those who are rich in spirit as they only wish via to learn more as learning via the search of the truth is a lifetime adventure.

Besides, which almighty creative god are we talking about? People using the First Cause Argument always make the assumption that their god did the creating. Catholics think God created the universe. Muslims think that Allah created the universe. Hindus think that Brahma did it. The Jews think that Yahweh did it. Most religions have a story of how their god created the universe. The idea of a god as creator of the universe makes for a fantastic tale, but it obviously tells us little about the characteristics of that god. What they are doing is explaining one mystery with a bigger mystery, and that is fallacious logic. Or, explaining the unknown by means of the unknowable. Millions of us well-meaning Filipinos will stand up and speak up with you: After all, the greatest crime committed daily in our sick society is the crime of SILENCE. Casinos Have Nothing to do with Economic growth

If I open a business that employs people, I’m "creating jobs," but does that prove that I’m helping the economy? Of course not. Economics 101 teaches that the question is not "Do people work here?" but rather "Does this activity contribute to economic growth?" And current economic research clearly suggests that casinos do not help the economy.'' Casinos create employment, but its employees create nothing of value which is what economic growth is all about. The reason isn’t hard to understand. What expands the economy is producing things of value, and casinos produce nothing of value. If I open a doughnut stand, I’m producing doughnuts. If I build a tire factory, I’m producing tires. The only thing a casino produces is people losing their money. The economic impact is similar to throwing your money on the street so that someone else can pick it up — it’s redistributing wealth without creating more of it. But it gets worse, because what casinos do isn’t neutral, either ethically or economically. Casinos prey upon people’s weaknesses to separate them from their money. Slot machines and other casino games are forms of fraud, similar to loan-sharking, false advertising and price-gouging. Economists have much to say about the economic impact of businesses that cheat and exploit people, and it’s the opposite of what the casino lobby says. If I start a loan-sharking business in your town, it’s true that I’m "creating jobs." I’m also creating jobs if I open a brothel or turn an abandoned building into a crack house. But would any of this help the economy? Of course not. Such activities typically drag a community down, economically and in other ways. Bad ethics usually lead to bad economic outcomes. In the ultimate analysis, a country where its few rich minority get richer, and the poor majority are getting poorer is a not country that is enjoying economic growth or prosperity, but the growth of economic perversity and stupidity...
