According to Church doctrines, the human body, since it is mortal, belongs to man. The human soul, however, since it is immortal, belongs to God. If this were true, and it is equally true that God is here, there and everywhere, why should the Church bother saving human souls that already belong to Almighty God? Indeed, what need does God have for the Church to save immortal souls for Him? Poch Suzara

I am sorry to have to correct you here. Nothing belongs to us. Not even our bodies. Our whole being belongs to God. Strictly speaking we cannot speak of our bodies as having an existence independent of our souls. That's a Greek pagan idea. To paraphrase St. Augustine, we belong to God and we are forever restless until we are united with Him.
We need the Church for our salvation because we can be saved only through the exercise of our free will. God will not save us by force without our consent. We have to say "Yes" to God and his offer of salvation and he gave us his Church (the Mystical Body of Christ) to mediate this salvation. Needless to say we have to cooperate with our free will in our salvation. It is just not a matter of saying "I believe" so as to be saved. As James the Apostle said "the devils do believe and they tremble." We need to conform ourselves in thought, word and deed to God's wishes which we can determine through the laws of morality planted in our conscience and as taught by his Church.

Before you said that we belong to God, produce this God first. That's the most logical thing to do, than claim senseless babbles about the church, god and other shebangs.
Now another thing, the law of morality that is planted in our conscience is planted by the society and norm that we grown to live, not by your god-concept. Each society have a different moral value that they observe. Ethical values are very relative, base on the person's religious belief.
