Why we are poor as a people and backward as a Nation

A people, therefore, who are enslaved to believe that this life in this world is nothing compared to that better world to come with God and Jesus in heaven after death is a people who value not life after birth, but only have faith in life after death. And such traditional religious horror is what keeps us Filipinos poor spiritually, bankrupt morally, stupid politically, impoverished economically, frightened traditionally, and backward historically.
