Secretary of Education - Fr. Armin Luistro

Without science, a nation can neither extricate herself out of poverty nor out of stupidity. Science is what we know. Theology is what we do not know. In this already 21st century, it is fascinating to know how science has been transforming the world of ignorance into a world of knowledge; while theology only continues to keep the world still frightened under a lot of sacred mysteries in cahoots with holy baloney divinities. But here is something even more fascinating: at present, in our poor and backward country, the Secretary of Education is not a scientist. He is a well-trained theologian; in fact, a Catholic priest - Fr. Armin Luistro. Do any of you really believe that as the Secretary of Education, Fr. Armin Luistro is out there to educate millions of Filipinos to serve as productive and creative citizens the interests of the Republic of the Philippines? In fact, as a Catholic priest, his duty and responsibility is to indoctrinate millions of Filipinos to be loyal and faithful only as Catholics in order to maintain and support the continued existence of the wealth, power, and glory of the Catholic church in the Philippines. Foremost Philippine Historian Teodoro A. Agoncillo wrote: "Self-deception is the worst tragedy of the Filipino as a people." I say this is only half of the truth. The other half of the truth is that thanks to our Catholic system of education, the tragedy of the Philippines as a nation is its self-damnation. If you believe that there is a separation of Church and State in the Philippines, you might as well also believe in the existence of the separation between poverty and stupidity. As a matter of historical fact, the illicit affair between Church and State in the Philippines is just like a good Catholic marriage: what God has joined, let no man put asunder,- till death do us part. Both the Church and State protect and defend each other. The former with forgiveness of sins; and, the latter with tax exemption laws. The job of the State is to keep the people living in ignorance. The job of the Church is to keep the people living in fear. Combine the two horrors inextricably together and we have what is known as Christian values and beliefs. They are more known today as: MORE FUN AND SAFE IN THE PHILIPPINES as stimulated and indeed generated by the Sick Man of Asia! Poch Suzara Atheist# Facebook# Twitter# Google#

Points to ponder, eh, Poch?

What's a priest doing at the DepEd? Not the first religious at that dept, is Luistro?

We had a brother Andrew Gonzalez during Erap, what did he do? Here is a list of
the secretaries of education since EDSA "liberated" us. I like to know what were
accomplished and left undone by them. BTW, do we have a national commission
whose job is to evaluate the performance of our Secretary of DepEd? Have we been
evaluating their performance? How should we evaluate their performance?

Where is Luistro leading our kids to go? What are his strong policies? The K12,
falsely attributed to him, is a call of the international education community and we
followed it rather blindly. It does nothing worthwhile for the good of our country.

If we were to rate presidents by their choice of secretaries of our DepEd, perhaps Erap
and Pnoy are of the same mentality. Heavens forbid! Both designated a religious person
to oversee the education of our country. How come? What is their idea behind such a
choice? - Ogie

Correct, Poch. Who can believe that Father Armin Luistro, a Catholic lay minister, is concerned with the well being of the Protestants, Muslims, Buddhists, other non-Catholics, and Atheists in our country? Or that he is concerned with Science? Poch was ejected from a Catholic school simply because he said things contrary to Catholic doctrine? Can a Catholic priest have a free mind? How can he when his mind is a prisoner of CATHOLIC DOGMA? Kawawa tayog mga Pilipino. We will continue being ignorant.

Wow! spot On Poch.

I am wondering how does a Secretary on this Department whom we all have high respect and expectation continue educating our young bloods to patronize a religion who was behind the death of our National Hero?

This Historical issue has been neglected for ages by our previous Government, Historians and Honorable Educators.

We can not change what happened before but I believe We will never attain national unity until the State and the church learn to perform their honest to goodness ROLEs in our society.

Someone has to end this confusion and continous historical ignorance to the minds of generations to come.

Cheers!
