Dear Editors,
CORRUPTION HERE, there and everywhere in our corrupt society? We should seriously look at our corrupt system of education. It is where our corrupt way of life is rooted at. Indeed, we are all born innocent, not corrupt. We are made corrupt by the power of education.
Let's take a closer look at De La Salle University, Ateneo, San Beda, UST, UP, Assumption College, Philippine Military Academy, Adamson, Mapua, PWU, Miriam, Letran, Lyceum, AIM, Don Bosco, FEU, UE, etc, etc.
To begin with, they are commercial enterprises, hardly educational. Such educational commercialism produces corrupt government officials; corrupt military generals; corrupt doctors, lawyers and judges; corrupt teachers and professors; corrupt economist, corrupt taxpayers, corrupt tax collectors, corrupt bookkeepers; corrupt policemen, corrupt fire inspectors; corrupt city engineers; corrupt investigators; not to mention those daily blessed by God -the corrupt priests who are still selling a worthless product known as that better life to come after death. They do so by teaching us how to be morally bankrupt with this life after birth. Indeed, we are still faithfully buying what they are faithfully selling. However, at a very dear price to pay: the mindless surrender of the self via the mutilation of the intellect.
Look how in this only Christian country in Asia we are all educated to love not our country; but to love only a divinity up there; especially by being corrupt against each other down here!
Look how all of our sins against God and our crimes against our society are easily forgivable, if not profitably pardonable by those corrupt who have the power to corrupt.
Ah, yes, blessed are those who are corrupt for they shall inherit wealth, power and glory. Thus, instead of growth and maturity on the one hand, and social sanity and human decency on the other, there is only more of the same, historical mockery. This, in order to support and maintain our eternal love for the unknown, the concealed, the fabulous, the incredible, the mysterious to that which is clear, simple, decent and true.
In the meantime, life in general in the Philippines can be characterized as the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly competition to be corrupt or be the sick victim of those who are already even more corrupt.
Again, take a serious look at the only book that is holy in our corrupt way of life - the Holy Bible. The Bible teaches us to love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not with him.? (1 John 2:15)
For my part, I thank God I no longer belong to a religious group. I am no longer ecclesiastic. I'd rather be a Filipino proud of being more at home by being atheistic. POCH SUZARA, Twitter# Facebook# Google#
