SUCCESS in the Philippines

Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success. . . Dale Carnegie. . . In the Philippines, the most politically corrupt, religiously insane, and the most crime-ridden society; and, indeed, the only Christian country in Asia, "success" is what most college-educated Filipinos settle for. We have no intellectual capacity to do something higher, greater, or noble enough to be failing at. . . Indeed, we are NOT a nation of great men and great women who have the power, the courage, and the intellect to put beauty into our country where nature has only put horrors! . . . We Filipinos are only contented to be a nation of sinners and criminals and prayers, indeed, historically, only to continue at being the faithful victims, and not the fearless masters of our own destiny! . .
